To ask for wise sayings that aren’t cheesy

The internet is full of inspirational meme quotes that are cheesy, meaningless and shallow. Love laugh life. That thing Marilyn Monroe never said. However, are there are good sayings / quotes / wisdom that you like?

I’ve always liked “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”.

When you’re going through hell, keep going.

Konyeshno I have heard one similar to this:

@Yellownotblue it tends to be said if someone has dropped food on the floor. It was also wheeled out during an unfortunate stumble when I was helping in the cow shed. That one was very literal.

I’m not at all religious but I like ‘There but for the grace of God go I’.
I have worked very hard for what I have but this reminds me that without my foundations of health, intelligence, a loving family and a good start in life I would not have what I do now. And all of that was pure chance.
All that stands between me and those less fortunate is a change in luck.

It sounds flippant but I try to live by it. I do not always succeed.

I also like that saying...I'm also not religious. It is a good reminder that a lot of life is just luck.

I like "loved is the child of many names". I call my dc (and the DC I teach) many, many affectionate names.

DD always says "don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you".

And to deal with envy "you should only look in your neighbour's bowl to check it is full enough"

If you are always the smartest person in the room, maybe it's time to try a different room
