Nobody is saying this, though. The idea is rather that when there are big stories, the government lets otherwise headline news into the press so that it gets overlooked. Or perhaps sometimes there will be a big story which isn't time sensitive, like the Brand one, and the papers have some discretion about when to release the story.
Nobody is saying that they did the investigation specifically to bury this. It's just that timing in newspaper stories has always been used to political advantage. When a seemingly trivial story is being pushed for an entire week, it's hardly illuminati level conspiracy to ask yourself why that is."
Exactly!
Brand isn't important, he's a nasty little creature who needs to face justice.
In the meantime, nobody bothered about rampant corruption from a party that could again, win the next election?
I don't believe that the rot stopped when Boris was ejected. I don't want my country to be corrupt. I want a proper, functioning government. A proper, functioning gov could root out sexism in the Met. Instead, we have corruption top to bottom.
Whether it's civil servants feeling that they need to appeal to The Palace for help or the Met being riddled with misogyny, it's the SAME problem.
