It's not half as salacious, possibly a bit dry and dull to most people.

But it's fucking constitutional dynamite

@Lastchancechica I have actually reported the thread for minimising sexual abuse and rape. I doubt it'll be removed, but like you, I'm incensed. The OP clearly didn't watch the documentary or read the article. The phone call between RB and Saville alone made my blood run cold. How on earth people can brush that off as harmless banter is disgusting.

Who is doing that?

The corruption at the heart of government means that there isn't a bats chance in hell of raising our dismal rape conviction rates.

You know they have declined in recent years? That is a scandal.

Or constructed, confected gullibility is more likely.

piscofrisco · 19/09/2023 09:47

Well not really. You can think Russell brand is guilty and also think that the story about Boris has been released around the same time by a press officer taking the opportunity to capitalise on the attention being given to Brand. The two things aren't mutually exclusive. It happens all the time.

Nice try pal. But you have reduced the multiple rapes to a mere ‘cover story’ for a years old political story that everyone knows about. Why would you do that?

Do you not realise that is highly highly offensive?

madamreign · 19/09/2023 09:47

Lastchancechica · 19/09/2023 09:41

It is not huge or massive it’s just reflective of a civil service spat. It was covered amply at the time.

I am still waiting for the reason why you are minimising rape and sexual assault on a mothers forum op?

It is huge.

It's a constitutional nuclear bomb.

It's indicative of corruption. You might not give a shit about how this country is run but I sure as hell do.

That requires thinking two things at once. Woah!

Yes they have, and you @madamreign spouting a conspiracy theory as a cover up for rape is just one of the many reasons why conviction rates are appalling. Lots of women don't report them due to not being believed, just like you don't believe the women in the documentary. Don't say, "I didn't say that." If you truly believed them, you wouldn't have written this post.

Now you're on the insults? Ok.

Why this thread is even beginning to sound just like Brands melodramatic you tube account. What a surprise.

No it’s not insulting, you ARE just embarrassing yourself with your bombs and conspiracies and constitutions.

Constitutions?

What, all of them?

DuncinToffee · 19/09/2023 09:53

If people really think the Boris Johnson story needs covering up, they haven't paid attention the last 4 years.

YouTube has now suspended Russell Brand's channels from making money from adverts for "violating" its "creator responsibility policy". The video platform said it was taking action "to protect" its users.

You don't know what I mean by "Constitution", do you?

Cover up? Only the people who haven't, been able to see him for what he is, always has been, always will be, might raise an eyebrow. I despair. Flim flam men everywhere on the public stage where the line between politics and comedy performance has become ever more blurred and the snake oilers move from one side to the other with little effort.

Lastchancechica · 19/09/2023 09:55

Meanwhile op is happily to consign the victims of rape to a cover story…..nice….and he/she thinks it’s not remotely insulting.

Oh please. Conspiracy theory bollocks.

The massive hole in your daft theory being look, here we are talking about it, its not even vaguely buried , its in the news. The other massive hole being who actually gives a fuck who talked about maybe saying something to someone now dead about someone now retired? Pretty much no-one.

Honestly, how ridiculous. And seriously offensive to the women involved in the RB "story".

Lastchancechica · 19/09/2023 09:59

It’s a good try op.
