Have you started wearing a coat yet?

Thunderstorms last night, but looking around most people are wearing a hoodie/cardigan and flip flops (in London). It doesn’t feel cold enough for a coat yet but are you wearing a coat?

Just put on a fleece to walk the dog, very windy and 11° here on the edge of the Cotswolds.

garlictwist · 18/09/2023 18:51

I've worn a coat most of the summer. Definitely wearing my big coat this week. It was 13 degrees where I am on Saturday.

hdbs17 · 18/09/2023 18:56

I mean, I wore my light rain coat earlier when it was raining but I haven't been out in a coat-coat yet, no.

It's still about 16 degrees for me.

VisionsOfSplendour · 18/09/2023 19:00

What a funny question, dont you wear a cost when you feel cold and not when you dont? Its not some kind of irreversible decision that can't be reviewed until Spring 😀

gogomoto · 18/09/2023 19:01

No, it's about 18 degrees, but don't forget your brolly!

RampantIvy · 18/09/2023 19:01

It's now 12 degrees here.

GOODCAT · 18/09/2023 19:05

Yes wore a waterproof and lined coat out first thing out and about early this morning, then wore a lighter waterproof jacket to work.

TerfTalking · 18/09/2023 19:07

Yorkshire. Thin down gilet over a cotton shirt.

BonnieLisbon · 18/09/2023 19:10

Still a t shirt for the moment. A rain coat if it rains

Drews · 18/09/2023 19:11

No but I want to because I have a wonderful collection of coats. Not cold enough yet.

User365 · 18/09/2023 19:16

I havent, but I never do wear a coat. Hoodie does for me!

SherbetLemonn · 18/09/2023 19:20

Absolutely no way. I’m barely wearing a jumper yet (south west). I made the mistake of wearing just a jumper (no top under) to do the food shop today and about boiled myself.

RampantIvy · 18/09/2023 19:21

Pennines here. Now 11 degrees.

NeedTheSeaside · 18/09/2023 19:26

Nope, I'm in the SE. Haven't even had a cardi on yet.

shirts & t-shirt & will be for as long as possible.

winter will be long enough this year, without bribing it in early!

but that's where I live, might feel differently elsewhere!!

Hibernatalie · 18/09/2023 19:44

Nowhere close.
I'm just too hot all the time.

NotYeti · 18/09/2023 19:55

No way. I'm still in my shorts and occasional hoodie here. It's windy in the south west but it's not cold yet.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 18/09/2023 19:57

No, it's still warm in London. I had an umbrella today though.

Zhougzhoug · 18/09/2023 19:58

If raining, a very thin anorak. If not raining no coat but perhaps a jumper or overshirt. Next week I may bring out the trench. Worn tights once, felt a little early, mostly wearing trousers and trainers.

catwithflowers · 18/09/2023 20:33

Yes. And the heating on today. In Northumberland 😊

FussyPud · 18/09/2023 20:39

Raincoat today as it was bucketing down, but I regretted every single second of wearing it, as it was hot and humid. It went in my bag as soon as the downpour ended.

astarsheis · 18/09/2023 21:03

In London today and it was way too warm for a coat despite a bit of rain this morning. Crazy hot on the Victoria Line and there was a girl wearing a full on fur coat...the rest of us were sweating just looking at her.
I wore a shirt and trousers.

RampantIvy · 18/09/2023 22:02

Where is it still hot? What temperatures are we talking about?
10 degrees here now (edge of Pennines, South Yorkshire)

12°c here now, but was 19°c earlier with 82% humidity. Also Yorkshire.

RampantIvy · 18/09/2023 22:37

It never got up to 19 degrees here today. Friday afternoon was lovely - we had 23 degrees after the mist has cleared, but it had dropped by 10 degrees on Saturday.

I think altitude plays an important part. We are always a degree or two cooler than the village at the bottom of the hill less than a mile away. I live near the highest market town in the county.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 18/09/2023 22:42

I'm in London, and was wearing a light coatigan early this morning when I left for work. There's a brisk breeze here which means I was wearing it on the way home, too. I avoided the rain though.
