Have you started wearing a coat yet?

Thunderstorms last night, but looking around most people are wearing a hoodie/cardigan and flip flops (in London). It doesn’t feel cold enough for a coat yet but are you wearing a coat?

No but I'm looking forward to it.

It's a uniform escape and my real self at the same time.

Dulra · 18/09/2023 15:48

Have barely stopped wearing my raincoat all summer sadly 😞 hoping for a dry bright cold winter

caramond · 18/09/2023 15:57

I'm in London too and my outerwear choices range from linen jackets (wore one today) and oversized shirts I wear when it's warmer to long wool coats or padded, waterproof coats for the coldest days, and lots of options for in-between too. I wore my cropped trench coat earlier this summer when we had the constant rain in July. I expect to wear that or one of my twill or corduroy jackets for most of October and November at least when it's still mild.

ChristmasFluff · 18/09/2023 16:20

Still in a t-shirt for my walks, but I have a kagoule for if it rains. I am always on the hot side.

MinnieMouse0 · 18/09/2023 16:22

Yes me! I wore a Uniqlo puffa with hood today because it was pouring and 11c 😢

SnapdragonToadflax · 18/09/2023 16:25

Definitely not. I'm in London and was boiling this morning, only wearing a blouse. I do tend to be warm but it's nowhere near coat weather.

It looks very windy tomorrow though, so will need another layer.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 18/09/2023 16:25

Well it was 11 degrees at midday and rainy. So yes l was wearing a coat.

Totallyterrific · 18/09/2023 16:47

Im still wearing t shirts with short sleeves - no prospect of cardigans or sweatshirts or even a long sleeved t shirt yet so definitely not a coat or jacket.

Totallyterrific · 18/09/2023 16:49

Obviously if it was raining......... Id need something extra but its more likely to be an umberella. Its 22.4c in the room Im sitting in atm. Far too warm for more than short sleeves.

andrainwillmaketheflowersgrow · 18/09/2023 16:49

I had a waterproof on today but only to keep me dry - it certainly wasn't cold.

nopeasplease · 18/09/2023 16:49

In Edinburgh yes, full puffy winter coat - it's freezing!

NancyJoan · 18/09/2023 16:49

A long waterproof this morning to keep the rain off, but no need for a warm layer yet.

Stokey · 18/09/2023 16:52

In London. Started off the morning in a cardie but was boiling. It's still 20 degrees here. Really I think I'm fine in a tee-shirt.

Beezknees · 18/09/2023 16:53

No! I'm out in a t shirt.

zoopigi · 18/09/2023 16:55

I'm wearing my cardi..temperatures have dropped 10 degrees to the 20s, it was 18c this morning when I left home for work!

TrickorTreacle · 18/09/2023 17:23

There's no need for a coat when the outside temperature is still in the late teens. Just a brolly if it's raining. I'll put my coat on in October at some point and the heating too once room temp dips below 19.5

Greenpolkadot · 18/09/2023 17:51

I'm menopausal, I don't think I'll ever wear a cost again...and if I do I'll be stark bollock naked underneath

tinytemper66 · 18/09/2023 17:56

Yes due to the rain.

RampantIvy · 18/09/2023 17:58

Yes. I don't live in London, and it was raining earlier today. It is a 3 in one coat so I only wore the outer waterproof part, but the temperature has dropped significantly where I live - currently 13 degrees and windy.

TinaTeaspoons · 18/09/2023 18:00

No, way too humid.

Passerillage · 18/09/2023 18:00

It was fine going to work this morning in just a light sweater and bare legs, but when I went out for lunch it was nippy and I was cold cycling home. Luckily my new winter coat arrived from Vinted today - I don't think I'll need it for a couple more weeks, but I'm glad to have it in the house!

Noorandapples · 18/09/2023 18:02

Northern as well, still in summer clothes and flip flops and my southern born kids are insisting on raincoats and boots 😁

A coat?!

sidebar - dream trippin', yeah 💃🏽

Clefable · 18/09/2023 18:04

I wore mine today! Was 12 degrees and rainy up here.

Tonight1 · 18/09/2023 18:24

Not yet, just a jacket when I'm out. The house is still much warmer than the outside.
