Twat that he is got pulled over doing 50 in a 40. Sat in back of police car etc
So now he'll have 9 points - already done a speed awareness course

Told us in the family chat and he and DH were all laddish about it and joking he'll have to get a bike if he's caught again

I wasn't. I told him he wasn't "unlucky" he was reckless. That if he killed or injured someone, he'd go to prison. He'd lose his job, home, everything
I reminded him of a little girl killed locally in the summer by a speeding driver
I said he was arrogant thinking his time was more important than the safety of pedestrians and other drivers- speed limits are there for this reason

Hes sulking and DH said I've over reacted

I don't think I have. This isn't a one off. He'd 30 years old and a medic. It's inexcusable

jeez I had not realised they would put you in the back!!!! That would be enough to frighten me for life 😂

Only time I've been in the back of a police car was when my drive shaft went just as I was turning on to a roundabout. Had enough momentum to get the car on to the verge, and within minutes a police car turned up, and they took me into their car while they phoned the rescue company for me.

I've been in the back of a police car twice.
The first was when I went through a red light in Hull in 1990. I didn't mean to; I was distracted by all the people coming out of the night clubs on the busy road. It actually shook me up more than if I'd deliberately jumped it. Stuck me in the back of their car, breath tested me and gave me a ticket.

The second time was last year when I hit some mud on the road and span off into a ditch. The police were there a while because the road was narrow and the car was half in the road. I sat in the back of their car while I made phone calls. Then they took me home. They were looking after me.
I am of an age where they looked very young!

Is he impulsive in other ways too OP?

Randomly, I came across this article at work today and it reminded me of this thread. Especially because your DS seemingly disagrees with the logic of speed limits.

No, not at all
That's partly why it's so annoying
