To be tired of penis beakers?

Seriously!

Penis beaker has become the benchmark of being on Mumsnet for long enough to allow for a slightly risky post.

But it makes no sense... You could have just copied a well used phrase on the site having (blissfully) no idea about the thread.

Sorry. It's been a long week.

But AIBU?

It wasn't the threads opening posts that made them funny. For me, it was some of the replies on them that were hilarious.

Yes, the Balonz one (didn't see it live) had a comment like 'that's like naming your children Tom, Dick and Frankenstein' or words to that effect. That made me giggle. IIRC, the OP (of the story was real) had 2 other children with perfectly normal names

MrsMariaReynolds · 14/09/2023 20:48

Maybe lay off the pom bears and fatballs next time, yeah? ☺️

Switcher · 14/09/2023 20:49

The ones that are super batshit are always about bread, I find.

Changeling78 · 14/09/2023 20:49

Cutted up pears? Do they go with naice ham?
I don’t think they have to be funny though, some of them are just bizarre.

Oh this is making me really want to re-read the minge at the swimming pool and the people (definitely NOT hedgehogs) shagging in the hedge threads. Can anyone remember the titles/keywords of either of those? Or better still, post a link?!

CameronCook · 14/09/2023 20:52

UCM is that you?

LoseLooseLucy · 14/09/2023 20:53

Minge thread has gone sadly, or OP’s posts have been deleted.

kittifer · 14/09/2023 20:53

I think you might need to give your head a wobble OP

Rusticanella · 14/09/2023 20:53

@RaisedOnADietofBrokenBiscuitsOh

Oh wow I remember being hooked to that thread about the Lemon Drizzle. This is the one where a PTA mum took the pee out of the posters fun cornflake cakes or something? And I think a text got sent to the wrong phone? I might try to find it again!

purplecorkheart · 14/09/2023 20:54

Is the pom bears thread still around? I have heard it mentioned many times.

Izzy24 · 14/09/2023 20:55

Smug thread much ? 🙄

Come back Phyllis we need you!!!!!!

Phyllis! Thank you, I knew I knew the username. Definitely a hard working bullshit maker, but totally worth it.

Oh, and the young woman with a ridiculous amount of money and a Norland Nanny! She really really tried bless her. Could spot her a mile away by the end, even just the thread title.

Asterales · 14/09/2023 20:57

@LoseLooseLucy @Hawkins0009 I am gutted to hear this but very grateful that you've told me and saved me wasting time on fruitless searching!

Rusticanella · 14/09/2023 20:58

@purplecorkheart I think it's in classics.

But if I remember rightly it didn't start off about pom bears. A couple went to another couples for dinner and then had a really weird meal of children food or something. I can't remember if the pom bears came out then, or if, at the prompting of MNs, the poster had the other couple back for dinner and served them Pom Bears.

I did think it was hilarious- but I think all the old classics on here are 🤷‍♀️

Does anyone else remember lemon drizzle cake gate?

Yes! I've wanted to punch a cake every since but never had the guts. I was in the PTA too at the time of this thread and found it very relatable 🤜🍰

The definition of a click or quiche depending on your spelling choice

for three people

PeskyPotato · 14/09/2023 21:03

What about the thread that was actually five threads following a ladies arguments with her neighbours then she did several threads about parking on her street and the two didn't match up, but I was living for the drama of her made up street as much as eastenders and still think about her.

WorriedMillie · 14/09/2023 21:06

Weekend at Center Parcs anyone? 👀

SpikeWithoutASoul · 14/09/2023 21:06

Fat balls really made me laugh. Genuine bafflement at a stupid husband rather than someone obviously trying hard to construct witty sentences.

Justcallmebebes · 14/09/2023 21:07

MixedTocopherols · 14/09/2023 20:20

I've still never seen the snapped and farted thread. It gets mentioned so damn much that I'm over it without even reading it

It's really not that funny. I've never understood why it's quoted so often and considered hilarious, it's far from that
