Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

Honeymoon was Maui. And it was LaQueen's husband's BMW

Ukholidaysaregreat · 02/09/2023 20:55

Fastball eating man! 🤣🤣🤣

I sometimes re read ‘snapped and farted’ when I am down. The responses made me smile first read and still do.

Scarfweather · 02/09/2023 20:57

Oh gosh, definitely the very, very old classic (I hope) thread about the worst or weirdest things found when moving into a new property. I remember laughing so hard I was crying. There were so many funny descriptions, including the garden that had every single type of garden surfacing possible in a tiny space….the old suit hanging up in the attic that looked like a body….. the ex-resident who came back for his stash of porn he had forgotten.
It was a joy 😁

Pamela. Her posts were heartbreaking and she was only in her forties. I always watched for her updates until they stopped. RIP.

It's was heartbreaking, she was such an inspiration, so many people praying for a good outcome for her too, lovely to see. I do wonder though, how did the troll know when Pamela passed and other details? The troll came on before Kerr posted.

Also another recent one for me was the "DP crying in the garden" OP instincts were SPOT ON here, hope that lady and her kids are doing well.

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 02/09/2023 20:58

Definitely the parking one with the Ford ranger, the teddy bears and the OPs brother 😆

I don't think I read the whole "terrible dolphins" thread but I thought of it a week or so ago when there was an article on the BBC website about a pod of dolphins attacking and killing a porpoise just for kicks - observed by a boat of 'dolphin watchers.'

The trip leader mentioned that dolphins are seen as friendly as they appear to smile but as they will gang up on and kill porpoises, which are smaller than dolphins but much bigger than humans, maybe humans should think twice about the Swimming with Dolphins trips for their own safety.

The old man that had a young secret son in Poland and the wife had found out. I don't think i found out if there was a resolution to that one. Think the wife had wanted him to cut him off.

Redtoothbrush? or similar who escaped an abusive relationship.

Lots of posts on the worst wedding or embarrassing moments threads, i love those.

NotADaffodil · 02/09/2023 20:59

The expectation vs reality (Suzi Quattro’s fat nan) thread had me in stitches, absolutely brilliant read!

A thread which referred to Jamie Oliver as ‘a doughy faced horror’, the phrase pops into my head every time I see him on TV now

A poster (username was something to do with witches/wizards I think) who had moved to NZ with her kiwi husband and two children for him to take over his families successful business. She was a couple of months in, hating it and it turned out the business wasn’t as successful as she’d been led to believe. Her DH and IL’s were treating her really badly and she felt stuck and isolated, Covid hit and she wasn’t able to visit family back in the UK. She sounded so trapped and unhappy in her posts, she often pops into my head and I hope she’s doing ok and managed to get out of the situation

An old one that has always stuck in my mind (details are very sketchy though and I wish I could find the thread).was a poster who was asking advice about what her stomach pains could be. After lots of suggestions from other mumsnetters it was decided it was probably just trapped wind/indigestion, she later updated the thread to say that the ‘indigestion’ was actually a surprise baby, it was such s lovely update to read!

The one with the haunted badge from Wales. 'birdy friend'.

And the kid kept saying that Birdie Friend said "the messy" was coming, from OP asking her DC it seemed like "the messy" was some sort of massive event that was going to mess the world up, DC kept saying nursery would be closed and all sorts. OP played a blinder though as it was right on the cusp of covid so of course everyone thought that was the messy BF kept talking about.

Somerville's love story ♥

Poshjock · 02/09/2023 21:08

I often think of Mini - the lady who had left her abusive boyfriend and was suffering a huge crisis of confidence that she could raise her daughter alone. She kept saying she couldn't do and and that he was going to "win" (custody battle he often threatened). She eventually was getting it together and gaining confidence and her threads got less and less until no more.

I often think about her and Mini and hope she is well

BeryltheBeret · 02/09/2023 21:09

All the fucking threads about Farrow & Ball shades - cannot look at a paint chart without thinking of some oldies who queened it on here many years ago.

ToxicPositivity · 02/09/2023 21:10

Not a single thread as such but a poster that created eleventy billion threads about an ongoing relationship breakup whilst not having the right to remain and it's so parenting aftermath. Clearly a troll imo but by fuck did she have the fangirls swooning.

YoureTheTop · 02/09/2023 21:13

The one that accused me when I was struggling in a new job because my colleague was not cooperating. Some poster accused me of having no self-awareness and that I wasn't cut out for the job.

It turned out that the colleague was combining WFH with looking after a toddler, but that poster made me feel really rubbish.

Definitely the parking one with the Ford ranger, the teddy bears and the OPs brother 😆

I still occasionally have a thought of visiting the food market where he works 😂

Rockandgrohl · 02/09/2023 21:14

Mine is the lady who found out her husband was having an affair, sycamore trees I think her username was, while she was pregnant and buying a house. I randomly think of her often, she was so strong. Hope things have turned out well for her

The OP was complaining that Somthing/someone was turning on her outside tap during the night. Posters advised her to set up a camera which she agreed to do and the never came back and updated!

Yes I remember that
@Sososadallthetime . It was recent one with a diagram and the tap was weirdly placed under a stair that had to be lifted up in a weird way.

Have you got a link to that thread? we should re-activate the OP!

That was me! I never updated for the most boring reason ever - nothing else happened!

The woman who talked her DH into getting the snip - knowing she was going to leave him.

It was on a ' tell us a bad thing you've done ' type thread.

DrFoxtrot · 02/09/2023 21:16

I'm sure years ago there was a poster that said she would have scissor kicked the Bounty lady away on the postnatal ward if her fanny hadn't been about to fall apart 😂😂 or something like that. I'll have to find it.

Some posters have a brilliantly descriptive way with words.

ŁadnaPogoda · 02/09/2023 21:21

I knew Bonsoir in real life. She had a real obsession with food and not getting fat, yet her daughter - who was delightful - was a real little podge.

Ghost poo (someone had done one in the OP's lav but no one had been in the house)

Shitting Man

Penetration Man

Your Minge!

T Rex in the supermarket

Sex in my hedge (the hedgehog post especially was comedy gold)
