Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

There was a thread about hating going to the hairdresser

Someone posted that after she'd had her haircut the hairdresser explained he'd put in some layers around the front 'to break up the monotony of her face'

Really made me laugh

TheaBrandt · 02/09/2023 19:45

One where a poster insisted that her NT 18 year old had never gone anywhere unaccompanied by an adult. A few of us queried it but no poster was adamant. Blew my mind!

sixtiesbaby88 · 02/09/2023 19:45

The one where the woman thought her husband was having an affair because he was getting poetry in the post - turned out he was being sent an eye test

Theystoleourrecipe · 02/09/2023 19:45

On a less fun note, I was sleep training my then 14 month old and needed some moral support. Someone said how unfair and confusing it was for my baby and she would be wondering why 'mummy isn't coming for me' (even though I stayed with her all night, soothing and comforting her, just not breastfeeding her in the night).

I felt so guilty that I stopped sleep training her and my physical and mental health really continued to suffer. I was going to my full time job like a zombie and my baby got worse. Eventually, she was waking every 20 minutes and my marriage was starting to suffer. One night my husband took the bull by the horns and did it. Our baby was sleeping through the night in 3 nights. My mental and physical health was restored. My relationship with my husband improved. The baby was happier and better rested. My entire life seemed to brighten up and I wish I had have done it sooner and not listened to whoever it was who made me feel so guilty.

Love this!

The lady who was bathing her newborn in cool boiled water. I think of her weirdly often!

samuelclemens · 02/09/2023 19:48

A thread about social media stalking… someone posted about their friend looking at pictures of her ex-boyfriend with his new partner and baby, and accidently tagged themselves as the baby 🤣

Throwawayme · 02/09/2023 19:49

Loads! but the most recent one is the shagging slugs 🤣🤣

HowToSaveAWife · 02/09/2023 19:51

The woman who broke up with a very creepy man...only to discover he had hacked her broadband and could see every site she visited and the logins etc she used..had contacted friends pretending to be her and been vile to them. Often wonder what happened to her.

AnnieApple123 · 02/09/2023 19:52

The one where a woman wanted to call her baby Beryl and the absolute outcry that led to.

Are we allowed to talk about posters we recall? Ones that I fondly remember are:

Crumbs, who allegedly lived in the nicest village where everyone gathered for "soup and sups" after carol singing. Sounded like the idyllic place to live.

Helena Dove: she managed to turn any thread into a debate about social housing and her husband's disability scooter, and would post reams of legislation re SH.

Queen someone or other: was very wealthy and seemed to really live the high life. Once posted a photo of her bedroom, but a poster did a reverse search on said photo and it was a hotel in France.

I think Helena is still here under a different UN

pigsDOfly · 02/09/2023 19:59

The one with the 'fabulously rich' poster and her amazing honeymoon in Bali.

She started several similar threads around the same time, all about her rich and fabulous lifestyle.

Unfortunately, because the poster was so obviously a troll, they always ended up being deleted but they were great fun and very entertaining for the few days they lasted.

bjjgirl · 02/09/2023 20:00

The one where there was outcry that dolphins and ducks were rapists

The Easter bonnet thread

The parking one with the statue

CupOfAnxieTea · 02/09/2023 20:01

For me it was the couple who were holidaying in France and they questioned a family who were being horrible to their child. So they left the child with them and never came back. I always wonder what happened to the child. (I may not have got all the details correct but it was something along those lines).

dawngreen · 02/09/2023 20:01

I still wonder if the couple with the ones having an affair in their hedge at night ever hear them in the hedge again.

Notamushroomwearer · 02/09/2023 20:01

" Woof to you,Lady"

Can't even remember what the thread argument was about but I often think about it and laugh.

bjjgirl · 02/09/2023 20:02

The one where the guy was shagging her and kept whispering "penetration"

Honeysuckle9 · 02/09/2023 20:06

LaQueen/LeQueen and her husband losing his car (merc, bmw I think)

She, along with Bonsoir, were always entertaining, lots of fancy posts then - pagwatches house, bonsoirs apartment, lequeens wedding dress …..

Jetstream · 02/09/2023 20:06

The poster who started a thread giving out about her daughter ringing during a meeting. The daughter had got a place at university. Needless to say she got a hard time.
The poster who had been fostering two teens and they had just asked her and her husband to adopt them. Such a happy story.

Lifeomars · 02/09/2023 20:07

QuestionableMouse · 02/09/2023 18:30

Oh sorry its not my friend or my story - I just had it saved!

I'd have saved it too, it reads like a Stephen King short story, and I have been thinking about it since reading it. I love a creepy tale and this had all the ingredients, lone woman, a scuttling THING, a wood, a disembodied voice and scared animals. The thought that someone actually experienced it gives it added chills

DrFoxtrot · 02/09/2023 20:09

I often think about the time when a poster stated that milk and bread weren't essentials during the pandemic.

Jellykat · 02/09/2023 20:10

Definitely 'Penis Beaker'!

But also there was a lovely regular many many years ago, who had a son with special needs and very little or no respite.. she had reached the end of the road through sheer exhaustion, and couldnt take anymore.
Her case got picked up by the national media, and she was interviewed everywhere, pretty sure she ended up getting some help because of it.

rc22 · 02/09/2023 20:14

Cutted up pear. Laughing even typing it.

Not a thread but a post about a woman out on a date with a very posh man. She'd had a sudden fit of diarrhoea in the pub toilet only to discover there was no loo roll. She thought she'd sorted herself out until the man very politely asked her if she was OK, as "you smell faintly of botty". Every time I hear someone speaking with RP it reminds me of this 🤣

O.M.Geeee I don't think I've ever laughed so much. Tears are rolling. Thank you, Feral, I needed that today

The one with the creepy music in the garden and the even creepier deletion message.

What was the deletion message! I missed that but saw the creepy thread!

Was that the one who reckoned cheese works in coffee?
