If he takes the car, immediately call the police again to report it stolen and tell him he's not insured on it, you booted him out, and he's taken it.

Legally he's less than a lodger. You know as a boyfriend with no shared children, you can cut and run, owing him absolutely nothing. He doesn't deserve anything. Insist the police remove him, and I’d get a couple of cameras so you can see if he comes back. If he arrives call the police. I know they’re overstretched but it’s their job to remove him.

Why would you give a drunk, uninsured man a car to drive? Odd.

Also if you give him your car he’s unlikely to process the change of owner with DVLA so you could get tickets, summons etc for anything.
