To think the gender and sex Ed wars are created by tories

The tories have totally messed up the country recently I think that people who did or didn't vote for them can see they are doing an awful job and they have no reasonable expectation of winning next general election..... EXCEPT now the Tory press has created this total obsession about

  1. Sex education and
  2. Gender and trans issues.

They are painting them selves as the only party that will save us from the wokes who want to identify as a dog or teach 12 year olds how to have anal sex... this is what the Tory tabloids are claiming is happening in schools.

What does everyone think?

Tories: torying

US postmodernist academics: sex is a racist white supremacist concept and women can have penises!

Fetishists and autogynephiles: HELLZ YEAH!

Women: Whuttttt???

Labour: We agree with this and if you're worried about your rights, you're a bigot! Rights are not pie!

Women: No way are we gonna let this slide

Tories - [realise this is a political wedge issue] - biological sex matters!

Women: We agree, even though we may disagree with you on lots of other things!

Labour - it's all the evil Toriez what did this

Tories : torying

I have never voted Tory, because of their stance on pretty much everything else, but the fact that the other parties, who i'd usually gravitate towards, cannot see the flaws in this approach leaves me politically adrift. I was a Labour Party member, but their stance on this made me cancel my membership.
There are clearly many other public policy areas that are really important, but that doesn't diminish the significance of this one!

Ditto. Please, anyone provide me with an alternative. This could and should be an open goal for Labour but they're too busy #being kind to men with special feelings and throwing women under the bus. I cannot and will not vote for a party which is willing to say things we all know are untrue, such as that humans can change sex, or that men who have particular feelings (how does one feel like a woman, btw? How do I know if I'm doing it?) are women. A politician who is willing to say men can be women is either stupid or a liar, and neither is what I'm looking for in a government.

Conservative - TWAW, TMAM said a Tory minister at the Despatch Box in response to the HoL asking for genderwoo to be removed from a Maternity Bill.

Conservative - I don't know the definition of girl and we don't need a legal definition said the Tory Sec of State for Education. What we need is a good old British fudge where girls can wait while boys claiming to be girls use the facilities first.

Conservative - it's OK to put violent male sex offenders into women's jails.

Conservative - Woman retweets JKR and is reported to the police by a Conservative MP.

Conservative - PM Johnson refuses to say that only women have a cervix. PM Sunak says a woman is whatever Boris Johnson says.

Conservative - I'm going to be a woman said a dodgy as fuck male MP. Cue round of applause and calls of stunning bravery.

Conservative - Include trans in Conversion Therapy Ban.

Conservative - fucking women over in every way possible.

Oh I forgot:
Conservatives - appointed above mentioned, dodgy as fuck trans MP, to Women's and Equalities in 2022.

Conservatives - promised guidance for schools. Delayed guidance for schools. Aren't going to bother their arses producing guidance for schools according to Secretary of State for Education, Gillian TWAW Keegan in August 2023.

The Tories don't give a shit about this issue. They aren't fixing it now. They won't fix it in the future. People need to stop drinking the Tory Kool Aid.

BloodyHellKen · 30/08/2023 17:19

For what it's worth OP I don't think the whole gender thing has been created by the Conservatives, but I do think the Conservatives would be really stupid not to use it to their advantage.

When your political opponents say such idiotic things like 0.9% of women have got a penis etc then quite frankly they are asking to be ridiculed and by default their policies mocked as equally unrealistic.

I have no sympathy for Labour/Lib Dem/Greens SNP etc as they have brought it all on themselves.

Yes, the Tories are cyncially standing next to the fire with a bucket of water going "oooo, will we, won't we, ooo we're going to put it out any minute, look we almost put it out, any minute now, just you wait...."

But Lab/Green/Lib Dem/SNP are enthusiastically running towards the fire with a bucket of petrol.

Seriously, what do you expect us to do? Vote for parties who are publically committing to fuck us over because at least they are more honest than the one who will probably fuck us over but doesn't want to say?

And Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and half of Europe.

If the Tories are responsible for all of it then does that mean we have a new British Empire? I thought we decided that was a bad thing.

How do you reverse it?

It’s so entrenched, and wrapped up in EC law too

I don’t think any countries listed in @FOJN pp have reversed much. Plus they have more autonomy over their laws

Not saying it’s impossible but what would the mechanism be, maybe biological sex in EqA or are there other ways?

FOJN · 30/08/2023 19:42

Not saying it’s impossible but what would the mechanism be, maybe biological sex in EqA or are there other ways?

There is a campaign to clarify "sex" in the EA. There was a petition and Westminster Hall debate which you may be able to find on YouTube.

More information here:

https://sex-matters.org/resources/equality-act-faqs/

The women in Ireland are now pushing back against self ID, their struggle will be harder because the law is already past. It was achieved by quietly sneaking self ID through at the same time as same sex marriage which had widespread public support but there was little public debate about self ID so most people did not know it was happening. The Denton Report details the global strategy to implement self ID.

Link to that document on his web page here:

https://somethingtosay.london/uncategorized/the-role-of-large-institutions-in-advocating-gender-identity-ideology-dentons-and-its-report-advocating-gender-transitioning-of-children/

The Scandinavian countries are reversing on medical transition for children because there is no evidence to prove benefit but plenty to prove harm.

Canada is lost and America continues full steam ahead but some individual states are passing laws to restrict medical intervention for children. People are waking up to it there and there is an increasing number of groups campaigning on different aspects of gender ideology.

Women and some men in other countries are also campaigning against this ideology but as I said it's been decades in the making and I think it will take at least a decade to return (if that's even possible) to where we were before the madness began and that's in the UK where the campaigning has been strong and (eventually) effective.

Thanks for this. I have known some of this, including the WM debate but it’s really good to see a summary in a post

It’s infiltrated so many institutions in these countries it’s going to be hard to return to, I could say pre GRA but not sure that’s possible, maybe just better acknowledgment of women and children and their concerns

It’s such a mess with massively invested parties who will push back against legal changes

But as the posters here are saying, it's not their fault cos Canada doesn't have a Welsh Labour Party and its happening there. Just as its not the SNP's fault in Scotland or the Tories' fault in England.Hmm

Talk about missing the point....

We're working with what we have not what we would like. None of those parties have covered themselves in glory wrt women's rights. Many of us are politically homeless not fucking delighted that the Tories are capitalising on this. Your entire reason for posting seems to be to tell us how awful the Tories are, FFS we know, and that we're all stupid. We've got it, now it's just boring.

Not quite. Labour have dropped Self ID. And the Tories are fucking us over now. Not only that, they're continuing to fuck over our school children and educators by refusing to issue guidance such is the level of their unwillingness/incompetence.Angry

Hopefully this trans shitshow will die with the disastrous Tory government who facilitated it.

If you find my posts boring, feel free to skim past @FOJN.

SayingwhatIreallythink · 31/08/2023 03:43

have Labour really dropped it though? Keir and Annalise may have, but if Keir ever gets replaced then it will be firmly back on the table. None of the next layer down in Labour are going to backtrack from TWAW

Sadly it is working, to the point where people no longer care about: educational funding for children, NHS waiting times, environmental and climate change issues.

Political parties are preying on people getting worked up and ignoring issues that directly affect themselves and their own children.

This. But I’m also inclined to believe that a large chunk of those who appear obsessed with these topics online are paid bots. I think they’re there to amplify outrage, to drown out more rational voices and make it seem these are the things other people care about, so the more gullible of us shift our thinking and deprioritise more urgent issues in a ‘nudging’ kind of way. It’s quite sinister.

I haven’t read most of the replies on this thread but I suspect the ‘outraged’ will be on aggressively challenging the OP, claiming she doesn’t care about women’s spaces, and the trans lobby are plotting to kill us all and snatch our wombs for transplant purposes, supported by a cabal of misogynist doctors next week or some such.

Apparently not only are we paid bots but according to some visitors to FWR there are only 6 of us with many different sock puppet accounts 😁😁😁

but this is also where we are at. Insisting that men cannot be women & biological reality matters makes women who say it ‘paid bots’ 🤡

Oh well, being accused of being a paid bot is a change from being accused of being in the pay of the Christian right Hmm

Oh yes. Because there's no way there could be that many women who've experienced enough violence from men that they understand the need for safeguarding. Men in the west are so much more enlightened, right?

The difference between what we are actually saying, and what they SAY we are saying are huge.

They just can't have a decent, honest debate.
