Help! Wtf is this?

Hi
i went to bed last night and was absolutely fine. I woke up this morning with something weird on the side of my wrist and I have no clue what it is, it’s been 45 minutes and hasn’t gone away or improved and I wasn’t lieing on it during the night. It’s a yellowish patch and a red ring around it but not quite a bullseye. There’s also no spot or head in it eg a tick bite. It’s absolutely throbbing, like when I touch it it’s agony

anyone know what this is?

Help! Wtf is this?

I'm allergic to insect bites and it goes exactly like that. Antihistimines quick?

Patchworksack · 24/08/2023 07:01

Spider bite?

ElleLeopine · 24/08/2023 07:01

A mosquito bite, perhaps?

AllAboardTootToot · 24/08/2023 07:02

Looks like a bite of some sort. Put some ice on it and take an antihistamine. Maybe scour the room to see if you find any wee nasties!

wtfisthis3 · 24/08/2023 07:02

And of course typically I’m going to an important event at work today hence the early start and really can’t miss it (unless I’m dying, haha)

I thought it was a bite but there’s absolutely no puncture marks at all, unless they can be microscopic without being seen?

Have you taken an antihistamine ?

Ratfinkstinkypink · 24/08/2023 07:03

Ringworm?

wtfisthis3 · 24/08/2023 07:04

Yeah, I have a Fexofenadine everyday for hayfever anyway so took that as normal around 30 minutes ago

Take an antihistamine and if it looks like it’s spreading draw around it to show how much/quickly that a happening.

HamishTheCamel · 24/08/2023 07:06

Could be ringworm

Jillybloop393 · 24/08/2023 07:07

Is it a blister in the centre? Very odd, hope someone can give you an idea, perhaps better to nip to a chemist and see if they suggest antihistamines. Good luck, hope you're soon better.

Libraryloiterer · 24/08/2023 07:12

Ouch looks nasty, can you pop into a pharmacy on your way to the event?

newbie202020 · 24/08/2023 07:12

Impetigo?

Blueblell · 24/08/2023 07:13

I think a bite - possibly mosquito or spider

Thoughtful2355 · 24/08/2023 07:21

ringworm maybe

continentallentil · 24/08/2023 07:22

It’s just a ghat or something bite you’ve reacted to.

get some germoline on the way in - it’ll numb it a bit. take an extra anti-histamine

Check in with the pharmacist if it gets bigger.

Colourfulponderings · 24/08/2023 07:24

Ringworm maybe

Idrankyourbananamilk · 24/08/2023 07:26

Ringworm doesn’t appear within a few hours out of nowhere. That looks like a bite to me, possibly spider or mosquito. I’d mark the ring, take some antihistamines and anti inflammatories and try not to scratch it.

bigdecisionstomake · 24/08/2023 07:39

Can I just second those who are saying that's not ringworm - DP has ringworm occasionally and it doesn't look or behave anything like that. Hope you get it sorted OP.

Janieforever · 24/08/2023 07:45

Did you use a hot water bottle?

CynicalCake · 24/08/2023 07:49

I saw the mozzie bite my hand - it swelled up really quickly, red, hot. Drew a line around it and it was spreading even though I couldn't quite believe it as it seemed so ridiculous

I've just finished a course of antibiotics for an infected insect bite. 🫣

ScarlettSunset · 24/08/2023 07:49

Looks like mosquito bite to me

Crazydoglady1980 · 24/08/2023 07:51

It’s a mosquito/gnat bite. It will be itchy for a while and then go

Bodyisbuggered · 24/08/2023 07:54

If it has a blister in the middle then it’s probably a spider bite. I’ve been got a few times now. Antihistamine will help.
