Husband's bed farting is too much

Serious post -
I've been married to my husband for 15 years but only over the past - I'd say five years - has he been farting continuously in our bed. I wouldn't mind so much if it was an accident or he really needed to but I feel he does it to get a reaction. Each time it happens, I tell him to go to the toilet but he then strains to get more out - again, to see my reaction I think. It's gotten to the point I can't sleep for a while as I know what's coming my way. For me, it's because it's in the bed and in continuously washing the sheets as they're stained. AIBU to ask him to stay in the spare room as I can't take anymore?

He's in his forties. And yes, there are marks. It makes me sick.

I'd not be sharing a bed with him. I don't think you can force him to leave the bedroom. But you can leave to the spare room and set clear expectations on what it would take for you to be willing to return to sharing a bed.

@alialixoxo tell him to go to spare room - give him sheets and a blanket and let him live in his own shite. You go out and buy yourself a whole new set of gorgeous bed coverings, light a nice candle and have yourself a peaceful sleep.

Also - what is his underwear like? I don't mean to be disgusting but is this a problem that maybe he does need to see a doc about - I mean a grown man sharting everyday into underwear isn't normal. - Overall is there a hygiene issue with him?

The farting I'd not be personally fussed about but the stained sheets are a whole other matter - he's basically purposely shitting in your shared bed which is beyond revolting and disrespectful, or indeed normal.

That’s gross, fair enough if he had a health problem (I’m the one with ropey bowels in our house) and couldn’t help it but deliberately forcing it out and it staining the sheets is gross.

OK, never in my life has a man ever thought it would be a good idea to fart next to me in bed. He has zero respect for you and he is gross. There is no way I would touch a man like that with a barge pole, nevermind having sex with him. You need to demand more respect for yourself and you need to refuse to share a bed with him.

We've relatively recently discovered that dh is lactose intolerant. If he avoids it, he doesn't fart but the slightest bit and the rancid farts start again.
He's never stained the sheets though 🤢 And it's definitely not deliberate.
