To think my husband peeing in the sink is...

DISGUSTING!! I was woken up in the middle of the night by an unidentified trickling noise. When I looked around I saw the ensuite door ajar and dh peeing in the sink! I had to do a double take as I wasn't aware this was 'normal' behaviour.

I told dh that it is disgusting as we clean our teeth, and wash at that sink! He is saying what else can he do as he has "a rock hard dick," and it would "get everywhere if he was "to do it in the toilet!" I then said could he not sit down to which he said that wouldn't work either!

DH told me this doesn't happen often, which made me realise he has done this before, he said it is only when he has been too hard. 🤢
Is this normal for men to do under these circumstances?
I have told him he needs to bleach the sink, as all I heard him do was run some water in washing his hands. If I hadn't have woken I would have cleaned my teeth there this morning!

There is actually a sub reddit full of men posting videos and talking about how they piss in sinks as a fetish. It's grim. They wee in their own houses and public restrooms sinks and then post about how they were caught/almost caught and upload the videos. Some men are utterly disgusting.

Plonkydonkey · 20/08/2023 10:59

When do schools go back?

Soubriquet · 20/08/2023 10:59

See this really doesn’t bother me. Dh occasionally pees in the sink. It’s just wee. You rinse the sink after. Done

Somewhereovertherainbowweighapie · 20/08/2023 11:01

I would do something equally disgusting like leave unwrapped pads in an open bin for him to see. Or don’t flush the toilet in the night when you have your period. When he complains say something like oh I was too tired to wrap them, or I don’t like the sound of the toilet flushing in the night. (I’m sorry I know it’s gross ). Wait till he gets upset at it happening and point out that’s how you feel when he pees in the sink.

Iknowthis1 · 20/08/2023 11:01

We need some men to answer this. Maybe it's a big secret and they're all doing it.

Iamacatslave · 20/08/2023 11:01

Divorce him.

TicTacNicNak · 20/08/2023 11:03

Tell him to get himself one of those travel urinal things with a lid and use that and tip in the toilet. Cleaning it is his job of course.

I also didn't realise men could urinate with an erection.

madeinmanc · 20/08/2023 11:12

Yes, apparently men can urinate with an erection, I was also taught they couldn't in sex ed at school but I read on Reddit that they can. So not sure where this myth originated 🤔

Itsnotrightbutitsok · 20/08/2023 11:18

Tbh this wouldn’t really bother me.

If it was spraying on my toothbrushes etc then obviously that’s vile but if it’s literally just going in the sink and down the plug hole then I don’t see what the big deal is.

Fearnecuptea · 20/08/2023 11:19

Ha, thought the same thing!

Itsnotrightbutitsok · 20/08/2023 11:19

I also didn’t know if men can urinate with an erection but I wonder if like women it’s just a lot more difficult to do when aroused.

Yes I would be interested to hear too.

I wouldn't be bothered about this at all. But I keep toothbrushes in the cabinet.

Clymene · 20/08/2023 11:22

That's fucking disgusting.

GardeningIdiot · 20/08/2023 11:26

He seems to think his dick is some kind of magical light saber. Is it worth all this fuss, OP?

Pandor · 20/08/2023 11:27

It is annoying to go for a wee in the night with an erection (which isn’t unusual as it is often a side effect of bladder pressure). The solution is to sit down, lean right forward and to point it down sufficiently to direct it into the loo (taking great care not to accidentally wee through the gap between the rim and the seat.

This is perfectly possible, nothing breaks.

happy to help.

jeaux90 · 20/08/2023 11:29

Disgraceful. My partner sits to wee unless he has to use public toilets.

He's taught his son to do the same because they are not entitled assholes.

Changington · 20/08/2023 11:30

Husband reports that you just lean forward. Either stand and put your hand on the wall behind the toilet and lean forward or if necessary sit right back on the seat and lean forward and push it down.

He also agrees peeing in the sink is grim.

HRTQueen · 20/08/2023 11:30

A fetish ffs what is wrong with some men

and mens pee stinks too I’m sure he could somehow manage to pee in the toilet. We manage not to pee everywhere and peeing for us isn’t as convenient

though I couldn’t help but think of Martin 😆

It is possible to urinate with an erection, but it can be quite painful

You do not need to do it in the sink though

Cowlover89 · 20/08/2023 11:32

Doesn't bother me

Janiie · 20/08/2023 11:33

All sounds very weird but from a practical point if he needed to be 'level' tell him to kneel in front of the loo. Also tell him to shut the door when he's using the toilet.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 20/08/2023 11:33

If sitting doesn't work, can he not kneel in front of the toilet, so he's at a similar height at the toilet as he is to the sink? Though I see others have advised how to do it sitting.

Curiosity101 · 20/08/2023 11:33

Logistically if he'd been on his knees he could have wee'd up and into the toilet bowl... Or as someone else recommended the shower or bath. Bit of ice probably would have solved the problem too 😁

I do think PPs suggesting he sits down, uses a travel container etc aren't quite picturing it right. His penis is presumably pointing up or 45degrees from his body and can't physically be pointed down.

If I'm understanding correctly then he's weeing by creating a little fountain that he's then aiming the downwards fall of the stream into the sink, as opposed to weeing in a direct/straight line like you would expect.

FWIW I actually don't think it's a big deal, it's only wee. So long as it's cleaned up properly and no toothbrushes or similar are literally on the sink then it doesn't pose a risk (ours are raised around 2ft from the sink/toilet on a shelf). But if it's gross to you then it's not at all unreasonable to request he figures out an alternative next time. You can give some suggestions, but realistically he should figure it out himself.

Ok, I'll answer.

Yes, you can have a pee when erect, no you don't need to pee in the sink. It's perfectly possible to pee in the toilet. You just need to stand a bit further back than normal and, errr, point it down a bit, as tumescence subsided (always wanted to use that word!!), you shuffle (carefully!!) towards the toilet and crack on.

Never once missed the toilet, even at 3am. I have an aim Eric Bristow would have been proud of.

Here ends the lesson on pee proud slashing.
