I live opposite a window cleaner.
it’s summer so windows are open.
Every morning his mate arrives at 6.00am and they have a very fucking loud conversation in the road before driving off to work about where the jobs are today, blah blah.

they wake me and possibly other neighbours
up every single day.

why can’t people be more considerate???

how have you asked neighbours nicely to STFU?

6 is a perfectly reasonable time to wake up

panko · 19/08/2023 22:29

And shut your windows and get some earplugs

Arrgghhdecisions · 19/08/2023 22:29

Throw a frying pan out the window at them. They'll get the message.

MuggleMe · 19/08/2023 22:31

Just pop a note in or collar him, ask nicely if he can get his mate up to date once they're in the van. At least try to communicate before getting too cross.

Only if you want to get up at 6. Most people don't.

Cloudsandrainnotsunandsand · 19/08/2023 22:32

We have had environmental health and anti social behaviour dept involved in getting local thoughtess twats to stfu. I actually have serious health issues caused by the long term stress it has brought me.. The culprits care not 1 shiney shit... Ime shouting stfu is very therapeutic and has actually worked on 2 lots of ddog walking twats of late.. Go for it op.

I have 2 small children and I don't wake up until 7 on a workday and 7.30 on a weekend. I would hate to be woken up at 6.

So if I didn't want to get up until 10 then it would be unreasonable for someone else to be noisy at 9 if I had the window open?

You might hate it. But it's still not an unreasonable time to be awake.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 19/08/2023 22:34

Have you tried going out in your dressing gown and asking them to keep quiet?

Vallmo47 · 19/08/2023 22:34

YANBU Op. It’s shocking how many inconsiderate people there are. A couple neighbours have started complaining/phoning police etc about the noise disturbances we experience from council estate and it’s made it ten times worse as they’re now taking pleasure and going the extra mile to be even louder. It’s horrendous. Between 11pm and 7am you are meant to be quiet/respectful. If I’m lucky they shut up about 3 am when my husband leaves for work. He’s a driver and could easily kill himself or someone else through sheer exhaustion. Guess how much these people care when we’ve politely asked them to turn the music down after it being on for 8 hours at 2am? Not.

minipie · 19/08/2023 22:35

Assuming he seems nice enough and not scary/aggressive, I would get my courage up, pop over and say hi, I’m x from number 25. I don’t know if you realised but it’s quite loud in the early mornings when your colleague arrives and you’re planning the day. Would you mind having the chat once you’re in the van?

WhateverMate · 19/08/2023 22:35

So you've spoken to them politely and asked them to keep it down a bit?

No.

milkshakee · 19/08/2023 22:36

Note through the door?

lanthanum · 19/08/2023 22:36

"You probably won't have realised, but voices in the street carry quite loudly first thing in the morning. I wonder if you could wait until you're into the van before getting going on conversation?"

I'm hoping their first clients of the day don't mind them turning up at 6.30am. Imagine finding them at your window before you're up!

Of course it's unreasonable!

Note through the door?

Instead of speaking, like an adult?

Disturbia81 · 19/08/2023 22:42

Earplugs are your friend, don't suffer by quietly seething!

Well the Noise Act disagrees with you as it defines night as until 7am

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/08/2023 22:44

6 is a totally unreasonable time to wake up. I feel like crap all day if l wake up early.

I live on a noisy road. I always seem to wake up about 4.00 am, so l shut all my windows then. And go back to sleep until 8

And? You can still be awake at night

GeorgeA12 · 19/08/2023 22:44

Put a note through his door, totally inconsiderate. I've got neighbours and had to do something similar and it worked.

Ahhh well my neighbour walks her jappy dog every morning between 6am and 7am. She also slams her door 🙄

I would stand outside his house every evening at around 11pm and have a loud chat until he gets the message.
