Gross negligence? Knowingly placing an individual with TB on a barge intended for 500?

or sending anyone onto the barge at all, when it was known the water supply was contaminated with legionnaires disease?

Gross negligence? Reckless endangerment?

Any individual who contributed to the situation, placing asylum seekers on the barge while knowing either that one had TB, or that the water supply was unsafe needs to be taken to court and charged, who ever they are.

surely?

@Nevermay "Somebody (s) need to be held fully accountable"

Why?

No-one died, no-one was injured.

You try claiming damages when you aren't injured.

And who will be sued? The clerk who forgot to send an e-mail?

This is a ridiculous argument.

This is a ridiculous argument.

Well that is certainly true of the whole small boats discussion.

Why are less than 10% of the migrants to the UK given so much attention and being blamed for all the woes of the UK, oh there isn't enough housing, the NHS is on its knees etc.

We all know the reason why. The government for the past 13 years has done nothing to improve the UK, but instead has concentrated on enriching themselves and their mates.

Desperate people in small boats are just a distraction to stop people realising the true reason for their situation.

Don't you think the police have enough to do investigating asylum seekers/migrants who are raping women and other criminal acts?

I think the police have got enough to do investigating the police that are going around raping women and committing other criminal acts. Although for some refugees a corrupt police force may be a nice reminder of home ?

I hate this, but there has to be some deterrent to those boats.
Our birth rate is falling, surely that leav s room for a bit more legal immigration.

As a German colleague commented, machine guns and mines didn't stop people trying to cross the Berlin Wall.

I posted one solution on another thread but here it is again - "We've now bunged the French nearly £1billion and still the boats keep coming.

We need to get tough,

  1. Leave the UNCHR
  2. Stop issuing licences for French fishing boats in our waters
  3. Cut all Foreign Aid to those countries that won't accept failed asylum seekers back - such as Eritrea, Pakistan, India,* Ethiopea and Sudan
  4. Start doing 'pushbacks' in the Channel.

I'm sick of this pansy-assed government not wanting to upset the French even when they are taking us for fools.

*India launched a space rocket in July this year ffs - they don't need our Aid"

Legal immigration like asylum seekers?

I thought one of the main reasons for Brexit was to take back control of our borders? Why then do we need the French to control the borders for us?

I don't know, ask Rishi?

I think it is nice that the Prime Minister has accepted publically today that his promise to stop the boats is unachievable.

I look forward to being told how we misunderstood and it wasn't a promise, and even if it was it was never to "stop the boats" but to "achieve a reduction in the numbers" blah di blah.

If Rish! says something in public, and there's a "y" in the day, does anyone care anymore ?

SerendipityJane
It has been proven by example that Clav thinks whatever some papers say.

I pick up my free copy of The Times in Waitrose most days and tend to read The Guardian online.

I have this imagination that in real life they wear a woolly hat with deelybopper style quotes on either side. And then I take my meds.

I had to google deelybopper - I imagine you as an eco-warrior in a bed-sit.
