to shop in M&S kids? Tried on this playsuit in size 13-14 years, so not even the biggest size, and I've ordered it online for £20. Along with a stretch blue dress in the sale for £4.50.

I think with the right shoes and accessories, so much of the clothes for teens can be fine, especially for holidays.

Also, a little bit wtf. I don't think Zara Kids works quite the same size/age ratio......

If you don’t like this thread, close it. Some people are smaller, it’s not a competition. This thread is about tips for dressing a small frame, which can be quite tricky. It’s not anything about food and no one else is making it so, so I suggest you take the chip on your shoulder elsewhere.

I think that post was intended to provoke some responses.

This is so unfunny and embarrassing for you it’s hurting my teeth. You can’t possibly be getting anything out of repeating the same tedious joke other people have posted a thousand times on the same website. It just makes you sound snide and unhappy. If you’ve got an issue with your weight then do something about it. Other women talking about their own bodies aren’t your problem.

What a startlingly unintelligent thing to say. What size do you think children’s clothes are, relative to the size of a non eating disorder-suffering adult woman?

Hufflepods · 12/08/2023 12:49

I love the Zara kids section. Their age 14 is very comparable to an adult XS. There’s a few cuts you need to be careful of that look
more childish but overall they have lots of options that are very similar to their adult section but a lot cheaper.
Same with Nike boys trainers if you have small feet. The exact same styles but much cheaper.

These are the types of posts which, imo lack critical thinking skills. Look around you when you venture out I suggest. Not everybody is tall, or overweight.

isthismylifenow · 12/08/2023 12:51

I'd love to know why such a helpful thread can attract the meanest of posters. Honestly, if the suggestion isn't helpful to you, move along to another one. Ffs.

CatOnABoat · 12/08/2023 12:53

Clearly some people are triggered by me being in a smaller children’s size than them. I can’t help that.

Peskytooth · 12/08/2023 12:54

Yes I do this. I’m an 8/10 and the 13-14 fits me. I’m 5ft 1 though! The larger kids sizes are too big. I do the same with shoes. Much cheaper.

LadyKenya · 12/08/2023 12:55

It is no skin off my nose if other people look at me, and think that I have an eating disorder. I have endured lots of rude comments, always from women about my size throughout my life. I could only imagine the outrage if I said something about their size though.

Yes for branded shoes.

I bought some superstar trainers (I am size 5) and they are 5J which is the junior kids range. No difference in the shoe, huge difference in the price.

Definitely worth keeping an eye out for.

KirstenBlest · 12/08/2023 12:58

@Enfys1982 , since the age of 13, I have grown 2 inches in height and am now about a stone heavier. The clothes sizes have changed, so although I would not fit into the clothes I wore when I was 13 yrs old, I will fit into today's clothes for 13-yr olds.

You’re “joking”, but the reason you’re telling the same joke over and over presumably IS because you’re annoyed about some women being smaller than you. No one on this thread has made any kind of value judgement about other women’s bodies except you.

Enfys1982 · 12/08/2023 12:59

No not everyone is tall. Most people are of average height. But if a woman has gone through puberty she will have wide hips and curves even if still very slim and clothing designed for kids wouldn’t fit a proper developed woman’s body. This whole thread is weird. Like a collective boast about how skinny and under developed you all are. Very pro-Anna IMO.

BusinessClass · 12/08/2023 12:59

I like next age 15-16 they are good for me 5'3 size 12

CatOnABoat · 12/08/2023 13:00

I’m not joking. I really am teeny. People think I’m a teen and I’m in my 40s. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You are clearly the one who seems bizzarely triggered by the clothes other women wear. Perhaps got should move on to a different thread.

You’re dated bullshit about how real women should have wide hips and curves can get in the bin.

That's just nonsense. Do you think every woman has wide hips? I don't. There are many different body shapes.

Beezknees · 12/08/2023 13:04

And every woman has different size breasts too. I have small breasts.

You need help. If this thread is so triggering to you you need to click off it. It's perfectly possible to fit into kids clothes as a healthy short woman. Kids clothes have been getting bigger and bigger.
May I also remind you, eating disorders come in all shapes and sizes and binge eating is one too, yet being obese seems to be celebrated by society at the moment.

Oh dear, what strange language to use. I am a "proper woman". My hips are in proportion to my height, and frame. You sound wired for some reason. We are not all built the same. Surely people can wrap their minds around that fact.

TregunaMekoides · 12/08/2023 13:05

Good find! Being a 14 (on a good day) I can't do this 😭 But I can do this with shoes - always buy kids trainers.

Those turning this into a body bashing thread - hard eye roll. 13-16year olds aren't waif-like tiddlers.
My 14 year old is my height (5ft 5) and wears a size 8 OR size 13/14yrs interchangeably. And she's the smallest of her friends. Most of them have a good few inches height on me. They've all got boobs and hips, none are overweight, they're just Amazonian. If DD can buy a size 8 and wear it, why on earth shouldn't a size 8 woman by a size 13/14yr and wear it?

Hufflepods · 12/08/2023 13:07

@Enfys1982 the measurements for a Zara XS are 32/24/35 and the measurements for an age 14 are 32/26/35. So what’s wrong with a woman who has gone through puberty wearing the latter? Where is the eating disorder? 🙄
