To think that PARTNER is an inclusive word we should use

Apropos the boyfriend on holiday thread I got a bit shocked how people reacted to OP describing him as partner and calling her out saying due to their ages he can only ever be a boyfriend.

I have teens myself and they all refer to the
person they’re dating as partner.
teens are all about being inclusive and using non gender specific terms, surely this is a good thing.

There is no such thing as 'gender diverse'. You're either male or female and have a male or female partner.

Trans used to be transvestites

nonsensical statement about semantics. You do realise that English isn’t the one universal global language right?

and they did not believe putting on a dress literally meant they had changed sex
What does this mean, and who believes this?
Total straw man. You clearly have no idea what being trans is so have invented some scary sounding nonsense in your head.

It's not semantics. Words have meanings.

You seem to have no idea what is going on and are deeply ill-informed. Trans women believe they can literally become women. That is literally what they believe. Maybe get your facts right before showing your lack of knowledge on this issue.

You're coming across as a 14 year old child with no ability to discuss issues or facts.

”Trans” people are not a monolith and you cannot speak for what “they” as a monolith “believe”.
I personally have never met a single person who believes that someone literally changes sex by putting on a dress.
Many people have a different definition and understanding of “gender”, “sex” and “woman”, “man”than you do, one which isn’t routed in an absolutist and fixed belief in a binary and mutually exclusive “gender”/ “sex” strictly defined by observation of a person’s external genitalia, but is much more sophisticated / nuanced and much better reflects the realities of social and biological diversity- diversity which has existed throughout human history and across different languages and cultures.

Have you ever even met or spoken to a trans person? Does your close social circle include people who are trans?

Sex and biology is immutable and doesn't change.

Gender, is a misogynist, man-made social construct full of stereotypes.

That’s an oversimplification, I’m afraid. I understand why it’s comforting for you. Unfortunately your comfort comes at a huge cost to others who do not have the privilege of adopting such a simple understanding.

No, it's not an oversimplification, ask Richard Dawkins. Other people wanting comfort for their delusions at the expense of long-held meanings, and womens rights, is an example of a first world privilege. You've been brainwashed. Sorry, but you have.

I suggest you visit FWR section to get a better understanding of this issue and how you've been played into believing in a religious gender ideology that as Dawkins says, denies actual reality.
