"If they don't like barges they should fuck off back to France". 30p Lee Anderson of course, not the BNP. Not the National Front or whatever their current name is. The Chairman of the Conservative Party. Supporters must be so proud. What a statesman. So Churchillian.

If you are

Female
Have female children
drive a car
wish for a warm house in winter
Need a school place
live in the country
more anywhere with limited transport links
Require energy of any kind
Are a tax payer

Anyone sitting in any of these categories will be completely screwed under Labour

They are up to their necks having taken money and massive donations from the trans lobby and eco mob will have no choice but to deliver for them.

Quite a good parody, but a bit OTT.

🤣🤣🤣

YC. Ignore points and waffles on about having a comprehensive return policy with EU. Says that Theresa May did have that idea before it was over-ruled. Says that the Dublin Agreement was good...

Yet again, Yvette Cooper 'name drops' the Dublin Agreement. Has she seen the stats?
between 2015 and 2018 ... the UK made 18,953 outgoing requests to transfer people to other Member States [under the Dublin regulation] from which 1,395 people were transferred abroad. This amounts to around 7% of outgoing requests by the UK resulting in a transfer.

in 2022 Germany tried to send back over over 68,000 migrants to other EU countries under rules government by the Dublin accords. The majority of those attempts failed.
https://www.infomigrants.net/en/post/46133/germany-unable-to-send-back-most-migrants-under-dublin-rules

So what have the government in charge done in the past 5 years to rectify this?

They've made no improvements. They just made the situation worse.

Remembermynamealways · 09/08/2023 09:41

So many Labour lefties calling for total open borders from their leafy LT suburbs with excellent transport links with not the first clue as to the QUALITY of life, or lack of , they are offering these poor people.

We are already over populated with every school, hospital, surgery and housing list bursting at the seams, but they just can not see it!

Guided and brain washed by the virtue signalling metro blob they seem to actually believe they have superior views, and that they are ‘decent’ people. They support the hideous people traffickers, they support the eco thugs glueing themselves to roads, they support super high taxation and a stripping of basic civil rights. They support more onerously the total loss of women’s rights and safety. They support the right for anyone in the world to live here. And don’t get me started on their treatment of Jewish people, and then call other people ‘racist’

I am the only person that can see this?

It is Group Think in action.

Anyone that isn’t terrified by this new Labour zealotry just hasn’t paid been paying enough attention.

This is serious now because our futures hang in the balance, and just the very idea of having the likes of rabid Angela Raynor in charge gives me chills, and yet Labour claim to the party of the decency!

The Tories have had nearly a decade and a half to sort things out. Harking back to Labour's actions 17 years ago is pointless and adds nothing to the discussion about the current situation

Labour keep saying look at our previous record on asylum - but there were over 200,000 outstanding 'legacy asylum cases' not counted in the stats in 2010 because they were 'set aside' in a different filing cabinet;

Anxioys · 09/08/2023 09:43

The Conservatives are screwed because even with these policies the polls have not moved in six months.

My old school Conservative family do not want to vote for them. They not only do not care about asylum seekers but they do care about the financial mess the country is in and inflation.

They aren't stupid.

itsgettingweird · 09/08/2023 09:39

Cloudy don't be so rude. I can engage thinking on big changes. Which is why I'm asking peoples opinions on how conflicting policies will work in practice?

You can't say climate change will displace more people and then reverse policies that were addressing this and not expect an increase in displacement as a result?

Unless the plan is to slow the decrease in climate change but yet make asylum seeking harder and unattractive which doesn't sit well with me at all.

And yes we need more energy. Labour has talked a lot about their plans to increase energy - greener energy at that. They've also been honest (yes that's something we don't get much nowadays) that their plans to do this are becoming harder and longer term because of how the Tory's are creating more problems with the economy.

I don't think Labour have a magic wand to solve every issue. I don't think anybody does. I've always been a swing voter as I'm very centric.

But I absolutely want this bunch of untrustworthy lying cunts who are out for themselves only to be gone.

I know you do. I know you very much want Labour to win.

Their migration policy is not going to work with climate crisis on top.

Remembermynamealways · 09/08/2023 09:44

Of Labours immigration policy won’t work, it’s not designed to work.

No one is calling for open borders but your party has been in power for over 13 years & Open Borders is what we have under the Tories....

But instead of being critical about that, you bang on about a party that isn't in power and wont be for possibly another 18months... if at all, nothing is certain.

Thats "Group think"

Just for the sake of factual accuracy on the subject of housing there are over a million empty homes in the UK.

Anxioys · 09/08/2023 09:49

@Remembermynamealways - honestly I've put money on Labour winning and you can come back to me post the election if you like.

25 per cent polling is terminal for the Conservatives. They need the middle classes and they are losing them. Labour and Lib Dem are mopping them up.

If they cannot secure my old uncle farmer after a lifetime of voting Conservative then I think the polls look kind.

Anxioys · 09/08/2023 09:52

We are back to an open door policy now I think? I don't know @Remembermynamealways changes their mind as often as Johnson changes affair partners.

Here is Jenrick on Sky News this morning

twitter.com/LondonEconomic/status/1689194871993626628?s=20

Immigration minister Robert Jenrick says if you process the claims of asylum seekers more quickly that encourages more people to come.

He's admitting that leaving asylum seekers in limbo, in temporary accommodation, not allowed to work, not able to restart their lives, for years on end, is a deliberate policy.

beguilingeyes · 09/08/2023 09:57

Remembermynamealways · 09/08/2023 08:09

So why dis the Tories win in Johnson’s seat? Sadie is ramming ULEZ through in London not the conservatives!!!

Uxbridge has had a Tory MP since the 70s. Their majority the other week was cut from 25,000-odd to 495 and this is a big Labour loss apparently.
The ULEZ thing is such crap. Apparently most people think it affects all cars, which shows how the propaganda is working. 92% of vehicles are ULEZ compliant.
We already live in the ULEZ zone, by one road, and we're not affected. I have a 16 year old car and my husband has an enormous estate.

The Labour leader has said that he believes a woman is an ‘adult female’ as he was quizzed on gender during a recent interview

Also from your link;
It comes after the Labour leader said earlier this year that 99.9% of women “of course haven’t got a penis”.
He added at the time that a “very small number” of people identify as a different gender to the one they were assigned at birth.

So, he was lying then or he is lying now?

The Tory's have allowed that 0.1% of "females" into female single sex spaces in hospitals and prisons. So clearly they also agree?

They are all thick though. No one is "assigned a gender at birth". You are born a sex. Gender is a social construct.

But until all the people leading the country can get this right neither party is crowning themselves in glory over this issue.

He is essentially arguing with himself.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄

I'm not a lefty. I'm a centric swing voter.

I don't agree with the people traffickers nor do I wished for them to function.

Hence why I want a decent asylum system that negates the need for people to risk their lives on boats for an uncertain future in another country.

A system the Tory's have run into the ground and failed to improve in the past 13 years.

I actually wanted them to succeed. Albeit humanly and not with their current policies out of desperation.

2018 - 2023 Conservatives in power. The problem has got progressively worse under them, why ?

Just hearing migrant boat death off the coast of Italy. This will get worse.

The only countries that have reversed numbers use harsh systems. The U.K. will need to decide if they want to do the same as those deterrent systems or if they want the increased chaos of mass movement

There’s no orderly easy queue option because the numbers will increase due to ease, and it will be prohibitively high.

Worth reading articles on mass displacement and climate change. I don’t think people on this thread deny climate change, so if they accept that then they’ll know movement of people will increase. There are high projections online.
