Does mumsnet make you feel better or worse?

when I am feeling pretty rubbish about my life I go onto mumsnet as I think it will make me feel better seeing other women’s struggles. But it actually makes me feel worse - I think the confirmation that the sorts of things I am going through are pretty shit, and also the never ending snipeyness and mean girl comments.

if I’m feeling happy I generally don’t go onto mumsnet.

maybe I should just stick to the gardening boards! Anyone else?

There are some right arseholes on here but equally some really lovely people too. Always someone that wants to piss on your conrflakes here

I wasn’t talking about that poster. I was on about a poster upthread who said they constantly see people saying they earn six figures, it isn’t just me who sees it. I think that’s why a lot of people don’t believe it because of the number of times it occurs. It’s way more people than would be expected. It hardly matters anyway, it’s just an observation I made 🤣

If I can relate to it and it's something I'm struggling with or unsure of, it will usually make me feel better to know others feel the same. Or they confirm my opinions or thoughts.
