God I am bored of dogs

And they are everywhere. Obviously barking and shitting which is annoying anyway. But also running and shitting around every tiny bit of green space in cities so that no one else can use these places apart from dog owners. Even when you go to a pub or café half the time these days it's "dog friendly" (why do we all have to be fucking "friendly" btw? "Tolerant" I could at least understand). You can't escape the fucking things. At work we even have dullards cacking on about how they want "office dogs" - nightmare as far as I'm concerned and really if you're going to be accommodating people's personal life at work surely a fucking crèche would be a higher pissing priority. Pet dogs don't even do anything. They literally just exist so that people can have pet dogs. Why the fuck are they suddenly everywhere?

Ta-da!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

the only missing thing is high tables. The giraffes necks wil get sore having to bend down all the time.

Treesinmygarden · 30/07/2023 23:34

I think there's something a bit lacking in a person who actively dislikes animals.

I far prefer cats and have never had a dog, but I do like them. I don't want them in shops, cafes etc though. I'm also allergic, and I have a bit of a fear of them jumping up on me.

I can promise one thing though. My cats don't kill birds and they don't shit in anyone's gardens as they are happy to be indoors.

PrimitivePerson · 30/07/2023 23:34

Bloody inconsiderate giraffe owners! Giraffes are everywhere now, eating all the eucalyptus leaves!

DandelionLeaves · 30/07/2023 23:36

My dogs contribute to my enjoyment of life. Begrudging people the joy of having a pet is repulsive.

There are a great many humans who don't contribute in any meaningful way, so spare us that nonsense, as well.

As for their being bad for the environment, even if that were true I couldn't possibly care any less. My dog has as much right to live as any other creature on the planet. Every blooming thing seems to be bad for the environment, at the moment. What's the point of living if you can't have a few things that make it worth living?

@Treesinmygarden yeah but your indoor cat is environmentally unfriendly.!!! He is literally taking the food out of a starving babies mouth somewhere and is probably somehow responsible for all the rain we are having at the moment. You need to have a serious chat with your might about his crimes against humanity. 😂

SpiralAgain · 30/07/2023 23:38

Wow, surprised to see that 60% agree with you (including me!) at time of voting
I've got toddlers and unfortunately live in an area where there are a LOT of dogs. I can't just take the DC out for a relaxing walk, there are always dogs running up to them (who "only want to say hello" of course) and I'm constantly on the lookout for shit in the grass. Everyone thinks I'm a misery guts, but well... It does make me feel miserable! I wish we would bring back licenses, with harsh penalties for breaching conditions.

It's not the well trained, working giraffes that I object to, it's the new Covid giraffes always running up to you in parks and spitting on your hat!

Well bloody said 👏

Canisaysomething · 30/07/2023 23:41

Dogs are one big massive sensory overload. As soon as I'm in a place with multiple dogs I need to leave. I love animals generally, but dogs are way too hectic and loud.

Conservative MPs.

Exactly!

The people insisting on a high monthly tax for people who have a dog.... there are elderly with no family, who just have a dog for company. But yes, lets price them out of the joy of doggy companionship. Some vile comments on here about people who have dogs ("mentally feeble" stood out).

Same with kids for some.

I feel the same way about people.

CharlotteBog · 30/07/2023 23:43

I am indifferent towards dogs themselves, some are sweet.

It's the owners that piss me off. Today I was vacuuming my car. My neighbour has a dog that barks its head off when there is anyone outside. We are a row or terraces. Every time I leave the house it barks. It's loud.
Today because I was cleaning my car the dog barked and barked. My neighbour pointedly left the house with the dog to take it around the back.
I think she has the sense to acknowledge that my completely normal task trumps her desire to not have her dog set off. I don't understand why it doesn't drive her mad.

PrimitivePerson · 30/07/2023 23:43

Don't start me on handbag giraffes. That's just cruel.

Where do you live that people are running and shitting on all the green spaces?

BunnyBettChettwynd · 30/07/2023 23:45

I'm telling you, if they let giraffes in my local cinema they will lose my custom.

and what about all the moray eel owners who bring them along to swimming pools and say don’t worry he doesn’t bite and I’m like yeah right have you seen his fangs…..

Though apparently moray eels used to be known as nanny-eels.

Tall people are bad enough for blocking your view of the screen, never mind bloody giraffes.

I like dogs generally but agree with you OP. There's a lot of money in it these days. There's a pub near me that does dogs Sunday dinners. Its human food. Their owners buy them human Sunday dinners 🙄

This would be funny if it weren't. There are actual human children starving. Have we all been dropped into a Hunger Games style parallel universe??

Dogs dinner.... indeed.

They'll let piranhas in the pool next!
