I don't know what these people think they are achieving. I think the mum was in a cab which looks like an electric car anyway, they refuse to let her get past.

How many people die each year due to climate change related incidents?

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 20:35

It always amazes me that when these people are given the Mike on major news channels, they do so badly. I could actually do a better job than they do and I'm not into their cause. Their whole reason to exist right now seems to be to piss ordinary people off .

How does any of this help climate change? What more do you personally think I can do to prevent climate change? Give me a list.

This List is from a respected source. Someone posted it on a different thread, sorry can’t remember who.

9 things you can do about climate change

With so many experts on climate change here at Imperial, many people ask us what they personally can do about it?

Dale Vince, a major backer of JSO is estimated to have a net worth of around £107 million, from his wind farm company. So no benefit to him then of the UK moving more and more to wind power.

Incidentally, he has donated nearly £1.5 million to the Labour Party. Doubt it will influence their stand on energy, though.

pointing the fingers at people who have money is discrimination.
Some comments on here ( not yours as you’ve made interesting points ) are very envious and discriminatory.

good discussion just turned very sour

How many people die each year due to climate change related incidents?

So you’re saying blocking ambulances even if people die is justified?

because that’s what that comment implies. If you believe it have the guts to say it straight

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 21:08

Ok so if it's ok for some people to die in a year due to climate protestors, and their direct actions, how many people, are babies and small children included?

If my son needed urgent medical attention and a grown adult was knowingly and deliberately stopping me from getting them to hospital I wouldn’t hesitate to run them the fuck over nudge them out of the way with my car.

MichelleScarn · 22/07/2023 21:34

I've had to go in an ambulance with a newborn after febrile convulsions, I was a jibbering mess as it was can't imagine having to wait behind people doing jso shit.
The glib way some people are expecting those going through that with their whattaboutery are awful.
I do trust those that are don't use electricity or gas,a mobile phone, grow all their own food and spin and weave their own clothes?

Summerhillsquare · 22/07/2023 14:16

Yes they do and they're right. The suffragettes were massively unpopular (and also accused of elitism), and yet, I trotted down to the polling station to vote in May.

Which is of course what you can do to vote for whichever climate denier is standing.

Do you honestly believe in your heart that the suffragettes would have stopped a mother getting her child to hospital? Really?

I don't.

Summerhillsquare · 22/07/2023 21:41

Err, you know they actually blew things up?

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 21:54

Summerhillsquare · 22/07/2023 21:41

Err, you know they actually blew things up?

So were these climate protesters right in your view? Should they have not allowed this woman through? Never mind what happened at the turn of the last century when none of us were actually born.

When did the mother in the video state the child was sick...

Oh come on. Are you seriously trying to split hairs?! To what end, exactly? It’s not a good look.

The mother was taking a young baby to hospital. Anybody who willingly, knowingly obstructs that is a giant arsehole of the first order. No decent person would do or defend this.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 21:57

Also feminists nowadays get written permission, permits, and do safeguarding before they protest. Because that's what's required. Where was the safeguarding for this mother and her child?

I think the second mum summed it up for me with her “don’t tell me you’ve never got in a fucking car” comment. She’s not wrong.

at least swampy seemed to be a man of conviction and lived by what he preached.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 22:05

I would just love to hear what Venice Allen has to say about how these protests have been organised compared to what she has had to do. Just to make it legal. If you know her, please ask her!

Oh well in that case JSO should just barricade the hospitals nationwide and not let anyone in to make a point! Maybe people will listen then eh? Doesn’t matter if a couple of thousand people a week in England did because there’s many, many more dying all over the world so let’s cause some proper carnage! 🙄

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 22:08

@Threecacti the point is, when they are given the Mike on major news channels, they ruin it every bloody time. They absolutely fail to get their point across. It shouldn't be on me to google, it's up to their spokesperson to direct me to what I might want to google.

Same videos have been shown online from other sources iirr.

ATerrorofLeftovers · 22/07/2023 22:18

Ah well, the 250k deaths mean that baby definitely needs to suffer and die, it’s justice, right? And their sacrifice will magically solve climate change, of course.

🙄

Well, this gives you the measure of them, doesn’t it.

what would you choose then?

30000 a year dying or 2 people each year

Well given how effective this lot are at changing the world, it'll be 30,002 dead then, won't it?
