I'm not actually speculating. As in a previous post I could speculate that the mum was lying or exaggerating, or it wasn't a baby but a very small puppy.

None of that makes a bloody difference. They were told that a mother needed to take her baby to hospital and did nothing to expedite that. Therefore I believe that they are heartless smug entitled bastards.

Oh the irony, I’m frontline NHS management, I know exactly what comes in and out and therefore can categorically say you are talking bullshit.

To use your example, a baby with a skin condition does require an urgent review, no appointments are given that don’t need be given which is what you originally said, that is what primary care is for.

If people who claim to work in a hospital don't understand that most appointments aren't emergencies, people go to hospital to visit other people, that you've taken an extreme view of eczema... If you have been told quite clearly that a baby needs to go to hospital, you don't need any further information. Most normal people would completely put themselves out to make sure that baby got there on time. If the mother lied, so what? I personally would not question her and move the hell out of the way because the alternative is too horrible and I wouldn't want to be responsible.

Let's take a guess and say that it was something that wasn't life threatening, you are still leaving a baby and it's mother in distress.

Let's say she completely lied, the JSO people couldn't possibly prove that. They also couldn't possibly prove that it was a none emergency appointment.

Maybe the answer is to yell "I'm an A&E nurse and I need to get to work" every time JSO hold up the traffic.

I wonder if the person on the back of the ambulance with the blue lights on that they were also happy to hold up was also well, or perhaps the paramedics just put the sirens on for some entertainment 🤔 or maybe, just maybe, JSO protesters are actually just knobheads who really don't care about the suffering they are inflicting with their ineffectual attempts to save the planet.
