I don't know what these people think they are achieving. I think the mum was in a cab which looks like an electric car anyway, they refuse to let her get past.

Meanwhile, on the Greek island of Rhodes, wildfires have prompted mass evacuations and a call for all boats in the area to assist.

It's fine to be appalled but you're effectively appalled by someone with a baby being delayed from getting from A to B.

JSO are similarly appalled by the governments continued dismissal of the climate change crisis.

Priorities.

Wrong. Iim appalled by terrorists and people defending them.

Two wrongs don’t make a right

Nonsense.

They are absolute morons, I would have encouraged as many people as I could to hold them out the way so the mother and baby could get through.

I think it’s quite telling JSO only do these slow protests in London, where people are seen to be more tolerant, than in the north!

They're typical bullies. They don't come up north because they know they'd get absolutely battered. Instead they harass and threaten the folk that they know are too polite to call them out.

Of course they do, are you serious. They give hospital appointments to well babies, unwell but not urgently sick babies, all kinds of babies. For all you know, she could've had a baby in the car (as that's all she's stated) and going to the hospital to visit a friend or have a non urgent toe looked at... probably more likely than the baby required emergency care and she didn't mention that at all.

Well quite! And only the posh parts as well. I’d love to see them in Doncaster 😂

Scotty from Sheffield would have them straight in the river Don! He can’t be late to site, the gaffa would dock his wages and he’s a lads trip to magaluf to pay for 😎 he’s not got time for this slow walking bollacks!

Prinnny · 22/07/2023 19:10

@BeeHappy12 why the hell would a hospital be giving an appointment to a ‘well’ baby?!

For the love of god. A newborn baby shouldn't be kept in any sort of car for an indefinite period of time. Which of us here wouldn't give the mother of a newborn the benefit of the doubt and send her on her way, rather than keep her and the tiny vulnerable baby in an overheating car while they dawdle to the next junction?

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 19:14

@BeeHappy12 it doesn't matter!!!! The point is, they held back a woman who was taking her baby in a car to a hospital. After they were informed that was the case. They are not entitled to read her paperwork, to know the ins and outs of her baby's condition. They did something hugely dangerous.

Were you one of those holding up the traffic @BeeHappy12 ?
You seem to be very determined to find this odious group to be completely acceptable in their shitty behaviour.
I don't give a fuck if it wasn't an emergency appt, knowing your child is sick and needs treatment is horrible and stressful and you just want it done and dealt with.

I mean lots of reasons like a dermatology appointment for eczema as one example...

So it's ok to keep a newborn baby in a car surrounded by the fumes of idling traffic, whilst at the same time protesting against car emissions being harmful to children. JSO really need to make their mind up on that.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 19:16

We are working with the NHS here, they don't give out appointments willy Nilly. if this even was an appointment, she might have been rushing her child to A&E. all those criticising, if I was telling you I'm taking my baby to hospital and I'm clearly distressed, would you let me through or stick to your principles? I would like to know.

Haven't you seen? @BeeHappy12 says they do, and even if the baby was unwell, it might not have been. urgent the mum should have been glad to be part of the protest and supported them! 🙄🙄

Prinnny · 22/07/2023 19:20

It would seem, according to @BeeHappy12, that the NHS paediatricians have nothing to do, no waiting lists for actual unwell children to be seen and instead are just inviting the mothers of well babies into an acute hospital site just for a general chat, perhaps about climate change maybe?

Meanwhile, in the real world we know that the NHS is crippled, waiting lists are amongst the worst in the developed world, parents are having to find the money for their children to assessed privately and @BeeHappy12 is talking absolute bullshit.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 19:21

Also, there is fuck all extra that I can personally do about climate change that could possibly make it better as far as I'm concerned. So how do any of these protests help? They are alienating everyone. Go for the big targets. Leave ordinary people alone.

I can see that the current people participating in the discussion are only interested in one narrative, the horribly sick baby needed urgent medical attention and JSO have no hearts to stop a mother from protecting their child.

I was simply presenting an alternative view point that the baby was not sick, the mother was simply inconvenienced and if anything 'using' her baby to garner attention and was actually just an inconvenienced person like everyone else and the story is designed to push an anti climate change agenda. I ask in earnest, could you consider that?

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 19:24

I don't drive, I don't get on planes regularly, I'm too poor, I recycle, I don't even eat huge amounts of meat. Because I am poor. I'm pretty bloody sure these climate protesters get in cars far more frequently than I do.

So you think a baby with eczema deserves to be prevented from seeking medical advice because you deem them not unwell enough?

It’s a chronic condition that causes babies skin to become cracked and sore, requiring specialist medication that must be prescribed by a doctor, but you feel that’s not an important enough reason to be allowed past the oil morons? You’d rather a baby be in discomfort?!

No, you are speculating. Plus if even one baby is made to suffer then they should not be doing this. They have abs had other options especially in this situation. This one situation just shows up how badly prepared they are and their strategy does not work.

I'm really not, if you've ever worked in a hospital you'd know that most if not all appointments are not for emergency care.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 19:27

@BeeHappy12 So did the protesters know that for sure with this woman?
