I don't know what these people think they are achieving. I think the mum was in a cab which looks like an electric car anyway, they refuse to let her get past.

Nobody cares.
It's such a stupid point of discussion designed to distract

Nobody cares about the facts of the matter?

That explains a lot of posts here.

Why have reason and thought when you can have blind outrage and forth?

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 18:50

@EpicChaos makes her point and blows it out of the water.

Let me ask all of you that are arguing such silly pedantic points, if you had a child that needed to get to hospital, wouldn't you be furious?

The protesters dont have reason and thought.
What is your solution?thus far, tell people to go round the other way. Brilliant.

RudsyFarmer · 22/07/2023 18:54

I swear if my baby needed emergency care I’d have just left the fucking car there and legged it on foot. I wish they’d find a different way to protest as this is just such terrible, terrible publicity for a very worthy cause.

Ostryga · 22/07/2023 18:54

I don’t care if I need to go to the pub, if some posh imbeciles are standing in the road preventing me from going about my day I would find it very difficult not to run them over.

Nothing they do is going to change anything, except piss the general public off and set the climate change discussion back decades.

No. Theyd wait patiently and drive back round.

But it didnt say the child was I'll in the video. Thats apparently the crucial point here.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 18:55

The point is, they had no back up plan. They couldn't take charge and think of an alternative option like letting that particular car through. They just smugly said no to a woman who to all outside observers was trying to get a sick child to a hospital.

People criticising that women for her choicest words or poor communication amaze me.

OP posts:
Prinnny · 22/07/2023 18:57

They are absolute morons, I would have encouraged as many people as I could to hold them out the way so the mother and baby could get through.

I think it’s quite telling JSO only do these slow protests in London, where people are seen to be more tolerant, than in the north!

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 18:57

@WildUnchartedWaters yes she should have had documentation and used certain words and persuaded them. Ffs 🤦🏼‍♀️

How exactly does alienating the general public help combat climate change?

I think my favourite one was the one who blamed the taxi driver.

Well quite! And only the posh parts as well. I’d love to see them in Doncaster 😂

Jso reckon if 1 in thousands or people research climate change because of this its worth it. Thick fucks.

Or as suggested by PP they dont mind if people die cause cc could kill 2000.

I read yesterday they will move if rishi gives a statement to say hel do more
I mean 😭😭😭

Have you been living under a rock OP? Have you not seen the scenes of floods and fires on the Med, Asia and America? It’s literally on the front page of the BBC now.

We can’t carry on like this. It’s heart breaking. I do hope this woman and her child made it to hospital but the JSO have a very valid message. Don’t shoot the messenger!

Absolutely nobody says they dont have a valid message.
What we are talking about is whar they are doing or not doing.

gingerguineapig · 22/07/2023 19:02

When I first saw this thread I thought it was the Job Centre not letting a mum take her baby to hospital.

As for JSO why do they keep hassling ordinary people going about their lawful business. Camp outside Farnborough airport and stop the morons with the private jets. Totally agree they have a valid message but you don't risk lives.

It's fine to be appalled but you're effectively appalled by someone with a baby being delayed from getting from A to B.

JSO are similarly appalled by the governments continued dismissal of the climate change crisis.

Priorities.

Please explain how causing traffic to idle helps? I honestly don’t give a fuck about climate change now when I would have engaged a lot more without these idiots.

The govt don’t give a shit! They will just make protesting harder for actual decent protests.

I camt believe I read on mumsnet that the line being crossed is not only whether or not the baby is sick but whether this is proved on camera

Aibu my boss wouldn't give me time off for my babies hospital appointment unless I proved was sick ...
