I read the thread in question, but never posted on it.

Damn, what is this, 'Slate Greeny' day?

Let it go already.

catinthehat · 25/02/2008 20:39

Ah, "strange". Yes I've been thinking about that word in connection with one poster in particular all day. Thanks Bang, just reminded me.
Really really strange and odd and weirdy.

expatinscotland · 25/02/2008 20:39

mmmiiaaaooowww, bang!

gees.

Bangandthedirtisgone · 25/02/2008 20:40

So, to summarise. Greeny dishes it out, but nobody is allowed to ask her for an explanation.

To echo what Desi said, her musings are read by thousands of people, it's not unreasonable that someone might think she is talking shite.

VictorianSqualor · 25/02/2008 20:40

Is it piss of MNers that dare to post something that peopel don't agree with day today?
First Desi, now Greeny.
FGS I think the lace trimmed knickers was quite a soft comment tbh, especially as a lot of posters seem to be angry enough to have fucked a cactus let alone had chaffing underwear.

expatinscotland · 25/02/2008 20:42

Is it just me, or has MN gone ultra-nippy of late?

I mean, anything a person writes will be thougth of as a load of tripe by someone if you have a large enough sample of people.

Bangandthedirtisgone · 25/02/2008 20:43

I agree, I don't think the knicers comment was particularly offensive - so why are you all getting so het up when I ask her to explain it?

Desiderata · 25/02/2008 20:43

Yes, Bang, I talk shite to some people. I do it under my own name, however.

viggoswife · 25/02/2008 20:43

Yes, you do like your 'questions' dont you Bangandthedirtisgone? Just a different way of making a nasty comment really isnt it?

mrsruffallo · 25/02/2008 20:45

But what's your point Bang???
Are you really offended by those mild comments hours ago?
Many people in the world have problems with the distribution of wealth but I haven't read any posts to that effect today

Bangandthedirtisgone · 25/02/2008 20:48

If I don't understand a posters comment, then I am entitled to, and will, seek clarification.

Greensleeves, if my question offended you, then I sincerely apologise. I genuinely didn't understand the motivation behind your comments, but I concede that perhaps putting them down to jealousy was a little spiteful.

I will remain in the dark as to why you made them.

hunkermunker · 25/02/2008 20:48

Can all of those who are getting hot under the collar on this thread please go and have a cup of tea?

And a look in the mirror?

And while you're looking in the mirror, if you could whisper to yourself, "What the fuck am I doing?!" that'd be capital.

FrannyandZooey · 25/02/2008 20:48

cor, lumme, fancy seeing you in the middle of a great big row Greeny

I will have to go and have a lie down now

Agree expat- lots of people getting offended very easily recently.

viggoswife · 25/02/2008 20:49

LOL hunkermunker. You are so right (VW shakes herself and comes back to earth)

Bangandthedirtisgone · 25/02/2008 20:50

MrsR, please, I've never said anything Greensleeves said has offended me. I don't find her posts offensive, I find them strange. I don't know anyone like her in RL, I find her fascinating and want to know more about what goes on in her world. Is that such a bad thing?

Desiderata · 25/02/2008 20:51

You were not without spite yourself earlier today, hunker.

viggoswife · 25/02/2008 20:54

You sound so smarmy Bangandthedirtisgone.

Bangandthedirtisgone · 25/02/2008 20:54

Thank you Viggo

mrsruffallo · 25/02/2008 20:56

That's a bit creepy bang tbh

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/02/2008 20:57

Greeny, my lovely, my comment was a very hypothetical, in fact, let's call it a musing, about a particular scenario that is most likely highly unusual. Kinda like the 24/7 nannying musing that uneases you so. Dont take it seriously, because I'm not taking this thread seriously At All.

In fact, I think I am in Armadillo's mythical Garden of Eden on this subject . I know what I need to do to make ends meet, and I know what others feel they have to do. We all do what we think we are best at. Ergo, I say arsebiscuits to the lot of it

Xenia, I take your point about smp, but, those who's salaries take a monumental drop to the statutory £112.75 per week usually have safeguards to ensure adequate income throughout that period. They'll either be going back to work soon if their earnings are such, or they can afford not to go back. Or, they'll have a stake in the company they work for, and the same company claims back the SMP they have in fact paid themselves. Quite a lovely little bonus that one, particularly if they are paying a salary just up to the LEL, whilst continuing to take dividends etc.

hunkermunker · 25/02/2008 20:57

Desiderata, you're not carrying over grievances from another thread, are you?

You were anti that further down this one.

[polishes halo]

Desiderata · 25/02/2008 21:00

No I am not, hunker. It isn't in my nature to do so. But I do recall your comments made on the deleted thread, which is directly linked to this one.

And it was only this morning, so I think I can be forgiven for pointing it out.

hunkermunker · 25/02/2008 21:02

[pauses polishing]

Nope, doesn't cut it.

I could have carried over what you said the other day on exactly this topic. I didn't. I alluded to it, true. But had I actually posted it, you'd have been on the receiving end of Much Flack. Then you posted that you didn't much care about the whole debate so I suggested you change your name to shit-stirrer.

I think MN might not let you have the hyphen though.
