On Tuesday I was accused of ruining a colleague’s pregnancy announcement. I of course apologised at the time but they wouldn’t let it go and started bringing up various times that I’ve apparently ruined other people’s “news”. I have spoken to my manager who has suggested I just get on with my work and let it all settle down but the atmosphere is now awful. Yesterday everyone was being really off with me all day and today I really can’t face going in. I’ve apologised, it wasn’t done on purpose or with malicious intent so AIbU to think if they continue with this it is actually verging on bullying now? I really don’t want to go in today :-(

Because, as you know, you have failed to provide a quote that shows the pregnant colleague complained. I don't know why people like you can never admit you were wrong. It's such an important aspect of adult social skills.

Really? I think it’s one of the most inoffensive comments on here.
Some people have really gone in on her and this is all she has said by way of defending herself.
I think she’s been incredibly restrained.

She said it to the op to get a reaction isn't that called bullying.

Maybe it was someone from the wasp affair who saw their chance for revenge ?

Agree with this, the OP bites back ONCE and very mildly after page after page of posters really laying into her and still posters go for her again. This thread is horrendous and I’m surprised it’s still standing, how much abuse can one poster take, fuck me, this thread is an absolute cesspit.

I never said you were bullying me. You told me your DH calls people who are supposedly like me “elevenerifes”. That’s just having a dig. Did you expect me not to react?

Of course, you’re not the only one having a dig but you stood out to me because of your remark about your DH’s ever so witty phrase (when he’s essentially just copying something he’s heard other people say)

Im fine with being told I’m unreasonable, but I’m not daft enough to sit and nod whilst people call me stupid names.

on that note, I’ve taken on board what people on the thread have said. I do sometimes get engrossed in my own world so I’m going to work on just not socialising at work. If I try and join in properly with conversation I either get the piss taken out of me or I get talked over so it’s easier if I just do what manager said and simply get on with my work. There is another woman works there that doesn’t get involved either

I’m actually better with wasps than I used to be. I literally threw a can of Coke at a wasp once which hit someone walking passed. I was mortified. I’m not that bad anymore but I’m still terrified of them. Wasps and moths.

I actually went to work - hence my lack of activity on here.

the elevenerife thing annoyed me because there is nothing worse than a bloke thinking he’s hilarious when he’s basically just copying off something he’s heard others say
