Your pictures won’t have that blurred misty haze if you wipe the camera lens on your phone before taking them.

Your gold jewellery will sparkle like mad if you leave it to soak in warm soapy water and scrub gently with an old toothbrush, rings do the inside underneath the settings to allow light to penetrate better.

Drinking a pint of water first thing in the morning will rehydrate your body and help get rid of that groggy feeling. Drink as much as you can throughout the day - you’ll thank me for it.

Closing the apps on your phone will make it work more efficiently, same for clearing the browser history.

AIBU to ask what your tips of the day are?

Mustard, Worcester sauce and a squirt of tomato purée will make a flat gravy taste incredible.

And marmite

If your home is looking grubby, remove your glasses/contact lenses.

Some of these tips are genius 😂

Keep a cheap, fragrance free moisturiser by the loo. (I use this ). When you are dry paper clean, use a squirt of this on loo paper. Job done and much cheaper.

Whoa! Mind blown @nanny! Thanks.

From the “leftover chips” thread recently. Tried and tested.
Don’t feel obliged to eat all those chips, they’ll do fine in a Spanish omelette the next day.

Half a scoop of Persil bio powder and boiling water will remove tea stains and limescale from inside a ceramic teapot.

Loobyloo68 · 09/07/2023 20:04

If you burn something in a saucepan, a squirt of fairy liquid and a bit of water will remove all the burnt , just boil it up on the hob.

HollyBookBlue · 09/07/2023 20:08

Just bought Turkish lemon cologne because of this thread!

Reheat leftover pizza in a frying pan

Hairspray removes biro

Vaseline gets nail glue off skin

Put some essential oil on your hoover's filter to make your room smell nice when you hoover

Put a dry bath towel in the tumble dryer with your clothes to dry them faster

HollyBookBlue · 09/07/2023 20:09

After using a blender, fill it half way with water, add a squirt of fairy and blend it again to wash it out

notatherapist · 09/07/2023 20:11

One I tested just today after reading it last weekend. Rub sone mayonnaise on bbq grill to stop food sticking. Thought I'd give it a go after yesterdays disaster- works really well.

I got loads of small bottles of hand sanitizer cheap, to save shredding your details from your mail squirt a blob on & it disappears. Check though as I’ve found on some things it disappears then reappears. Or just get a damp cloth & rub the label.

Or just cover them over with a thick marker pen.

StellaLaBella · 09/07/2023 20:28

Don't boil eggs, steam them, and if you are peeling them, then tap the bottom part of the egg gently a few times until you hear a pop (it's quite distinct), they peel so much easier.

If you have anxiety, back pain, tension, etc, there is really great and very quick stretch sequence that helps enormously. It's called activating and resetting your vagus nerve, there are tons of videos on how to do found easily on You Tube and TikTok.

and never clean windows on a sunny day as it's hard to see the bits you may miss

Clean the inside in horizontal lines, and the outside in vertical lines.
If there are any streaks you will know what side they are on.

Critic acid cleans everything and descales negating the need for any toxic chemicals. Including very dirty ovens!!

But it will find fault with everything.

I use the lemon juice form, it is less judgy.

Maireas · 09/07/2023 20:32

Oh any of you who use a slow cooker, stews and curries benefit from a large dollop of grain mustard.
If you like chillies add them to whatever, shepherds pie, lasagne, etc

I've discovered lazy garlic and ready chopped garlic in jars and tubes. Honestly life is too short to chop garlic now. No more stinking of the stuff after chopping. I still chop everything else.

Use flavoured oil for Yorkshire puddings if your having savoury. Aldi do a chilli infused oil, its gorgeous for my Yorkshires. Theres a smoked chilli oil, it's amazing, cant remember what brand soz.

Mapletreelane · 09/07/2023 20:36

Sudocreme is not just for nappy rash! It's amazing for spots, dab some overnight and it calms them down and dries them put. Great for chafed skin too, especially in hot weather.

I've heard that before, but can't get it to work. Black print everywhere.

Clean glass with vinegar, buff afterwards with newspaper. Wipe with a soft dry cloth (or skip the newspaper stage like I do).

Yes, I've used the vinegar and soft cloth method for years. Just can't work out the newspaper part.

Nail Polish remover to get rid of oil based paint on the skin.

Or white spirit on cotton wool, or brush cleaner which you most likely have already if you are using gloss paint.

DaisyUpsy · 09/07/2023 20:40

Another critic acid recommendation here. I also add a slice of fresh lemon. Brings my kettle up a treat. Also used it to clean an outside water feature earlier. Could have done with soaking a bit longer (this was after 30 mins)

Don't lean over the cat litter tray when scooping, if you do, remember not to inhale, particularlyy through your nose.

For those with Type1 diabetics in the family who use an insulin pump and or Glucose monitor… Avons Skin so Soft spray oil is great for getting the adhesive from them off the skin. It’s also good for getting adhesive off mirrors.

So is baby oil, or pretty much any oil.
