Your pictures won’t have that blurred misty haze if you wipe the camera lens on your phone before taking them.

Your gold jewellery will sparkle like mad if you leave it to soak in warm soapy water and scrub gently with an old toothbrush, rings do the inside underneath the settings to allow light to penetrate better.

Drinking a pint of water first thing in the morning will rehydrate your body and help get rid of that groggy feeling. Drink as much as you can throughout the day - you’ll thank me for it.

Closing the apps on your phone will make it work more efficiently, same for clearing the browser history.

AIBU to ask what your tips of the day are?

For those with Type1 diabetics in the family who use an insulin pump and or Glucose monitor… Avons Skin so Soft spray oil is great for getting the adhesive from them off the skin. It’s also good for getting adhesive off mirrors.

Following so I can read through properly later on.

Great tip; thank you!

If you use it, a few squirts of hair remover down the bath plug hole will dissolve any trapped hair.

I've never drunk water in my life 🤮 can't stomach it. Wish I could 😬

Have you tried from a sports bottle rather than a glass? Hits your tongue at a different spot and is more palatable to me!

WORRIED that your teeth will be stained after a heavy night drinking red I wine? Drink a bottle of white wine before going to bed, to remove the stains.

Now that is a tip. 👏🏻

Mayonnaise left overnight will remove a water ring from a wooden table

Great tip; thank you!

We tried baby oil but it’s not as good as the Avon SSS. Little granddaughter was diagnosed last year.

Don't drink too much water. You won't "dehydrate" unless you're sweating profusely. You can get enough fluid from food, especially fruit and veg.
Drinking water doesn't "flush out" or "clean" your system. That's not how the body works.
Put vinegar in a towel wash, no detergent. Towels come out well.
Hand sanitiser gets rid of pen marks.

People often don’t eat enough fruit and veg. And hydration depends on the individual and what they do/health conditions.

@lapisamethyst @Toothiepegg FAIRYLIQUID/ DISH SOAP IS CARCINOGENIC PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE AND JUST USE SOAP!

What a ridiculous statement. You are aware we put our hands in it daily and wash up in it.
Bonkers.

Clementineorsatsuma · 09/07/2023 18:34

@DontBeSillyBridget I'm sure that previous generations didn't drink water either. No one had water bottles when I was younger- my parents only drink tea or coffee.
It's very recent thing tbh. Last 20/30 years I would say.

I like this but I often also freeze grapes to use as ice cubes.

On the topic of frozen grapes, they were a life saver while I was pregnant during a heatwave - kept some in the freezer, so I could snack on them to cool me down.

When baking jacket potatoes in the oven cook a dozen at a time and freeze the ones you don't eat.
Saves time and cost

Usually you double tap your home button, lots of app thumbnails appear and you can then swipe them off the screen.

Can you tell me how to do that on an iPhone.Tia

homeitisthen · 09/07/2023 18:40

I can't think of one but wanted to follow for tips 😊 x

Close the cutlery drawer before you slice any bread

My cutlery drawer and my bread slicing place are not near each other. Now coffee granules in the drawer (also looking at my dh) is another matter completely

Mustard, Worcester sauce and a squirt of tomato purée will make a flat gravy taste incredible.

Buy the little frozen blocks of spinach and put into one pot type of meals i.e chilli, bolognese, casserole or curry style dinners.

It makes meals go a bit further and spinach is good for you.

Win, win 😁

On spinach- add frozen to your smoothies with the juice of a lime and you cannot taste the spinach at all. Drink with a straw - the jumbo reusable ones from Amazon are perfect.

Keykat · 09/07/2023 18:51

I see so many great tips on the shorts on Youtube and FB, and think OMG that's great must remember that! But I watch it in bed and can never remember what the the tips are!

My silly ones are - bags of spinach or spinach and kale in the chilled section can go straight in the freezer. Take out a handful or whatever you need, no need to blanch or anything. I put mine in the big ziplock bags first.

Hang the four corners of sheets and towels on the line so that the open ends are on the line then pegged on. They never get tangled that way in the wind.

I can't remember any more - see first sentence....

Soda water in a spray bottle is great for getting stains out of carpet and other stuff. Just spray on liberally and rub with a dry cloth. I discovered this last week and it was actually amazing!!

bonfirebash · 09/07/2023 19:12

@LadyMary50 go to your Home Screen, swipe up and your apps should appear, swipe up to get rid

@dude Do you know where to buy this still? Used to find it in Sainsburys but unfortunately they've stopped now.

Keep a cheap, fragrance free moisturiser by the loo. (I use this ). When you are dry paper clean, use a squirt of this on loo paper. Job done and much cheaper.
