So tired of cooking the same thing over and over again. I am the main cook for me dh and three boys, two are big teens and eat a lot, recently invested in a double air fryer.
We probably have a rotation of the same meals . If everyone shares their top 5 meals then there will be ideas for others.
Mine are
Fajitas,
Vietnamese style Pork with noodles and a fried egg
Pork chops in honey and soy
Carbonara
Sausage and bean casserole.
Cate to share yours?

Are you on Instagram? If so, follow "Cardiff Mum".

She posts reels of 5 meals for £25 and shares the recipe and the shopping list. The money saving aspect is great but it's given me the opportunity to try some new recipes too. She does them regularly so always something new to try!

I’ll probably get shot for this but recently I’ve been trying Simply Cook, little spice/ herb / stock / paste pots to make a wide variety of dishes. You have to buy the basics for each recipe, but it’s a short list and they’re easy to make. If you don’t choose your own recipes they send a random selection. I like them because I’ve cooked so many things I would never have chosen, thought of, or made before, and there hasn’t been one thing I haven’t liked. It takes away the pain in the arse conversations about what to have for dinner.

Mild chilli, rice and tortillas
Sausage and pasta
Mild curry and rice

We eat lots of chicken and rice too, I usually buy bbq ready - either tikka breast, thighs etc and pull the meat off when cooked, served with rice and salad.
Kids have a decent burger with salad too every so often. I have one picky teen, 2 don't eat cheese and one that would live solely off cheesy pasta

Anyotherdude · 08/07/2023 09:39

Chicken Korma and rice
Roasted pork tenderloin with mushroom cream sauce or mustard cream sauce, new potatoes roasted with onion and bacon, and steamed broccoli
Chilli con carne with rice
Stir-fried steak in black bean sauce with stir-fry veg and udon noodles
Chicken satay with peanut sauce and sticky rice

(All from scratch - no cook-in sauces)

christmastreefarm · 08/07/2023 09:50

Oh they like a 'jacket potato bar' as well. Basically a jacket potato and a selection of toppings that they help themself to.

Beans, tuna, chopped sausages, cheese etc etc.
