So tired of cooking the same thing over and over again. I am the main cook for me dh and three boys, two are big teens and eat a lot, recently invested in a double air fryer.
We probably have a rotation of the same meals . If everyone shares their top 5 meals then there will be ideas for others.
Mine are
Fajitas,
Vietnamese style Pork with noodles and a fried egg
Pork chops in honey and soy
Carbonara
Sausage and bean casserole.
Cate to share yours?

Oohhh these are all lovely ideas! Am taking notes. I did a beef satay the other day in the air fryer. Basically a beef stew with a jar of peanut butter added. There are loads of recipes online for it and variations. Served with rice first then later in the week with bread/chips//potatoes. Kids loved it!

Family of 6 myself, partner, 2 20something and 2 teens. I have always had our evening meal were we always have one meal that I cook and we all sit together and eat, so slow cooker and tray bake meals are my go to.

No Mayo tuna pasta
Jamie Oliver aromatic lamb curry
Garlic chicken and green bean tray bake.
Cod and tomato tray bake

Poached salmon in a foil or greaseproof paper packet in the oven with peas, lemon and rice.
Cheesy quesadilla-y type things (made with flatbreads, mashed beans and loads of cheddar).
Roast chicken + trimmings.
Homemade chicken soup with naice bread (to use up whatever's left of the roast chicken - we buy a big one!).
Tricolor salad (avocado, mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, with olive oil and fresh basil) and bread.

The above are what go down best - but some can take a while so are weekend-only things! For a quick thing, we'd do something like egg noodles with whatever veg needs using up at the bottom of the fridge (broccoli etc), or pasta and mushroom sauce with a few walnuts and some herbs.

One of my kids was veggie for 4 years (recently started eating occasional fish and chicken), so we tend towards non meat based things.

Another favourite but easy family meal, roast chicken, baguette and salad.

A longer family fave is Persian sabzi. I haven't seen a lot of Persian food mentioned so far but the sabzi is amazing. Lamb, prunes, lemon, Spinach, kidney beans, heaps and heaps of coriander, spring onion, garlic, fenugreek.. mm it takes hours but is amazing.

We've found the same with Gousto- we used to get the boxes but now just use some of the recipe sheets. They are always tasty and very simple.

Beef burritos: you can use mince, steak or pulled. Add with some rice, black beans, cheese and salsa in a wrap.

Chorizo & Prawn creamy penne: penne pasta, sliced chorizo, while prawns, thinly sliced large sweet pepper, sweet white onion thinly sliced, cherry tomatoes . Sauté the ingredients together until softened. Season with garlic, salt, rosemary, paprika (sweet). Add some pasta and single cream. Stir through cooked pasta,

Chilli dogs: finger roles, hot dogs, tins of chilli con carne, shredded cheese. Heat up and assemble with chilli on top of the hot dogs and sprinkle the cheese on top.

Slow cooker beef brisket: put a brisket in the slow cooker and add water. Cook on low all day. Make some beef gravy up with some of the juices and serve with mashed potatoes and pulled brisket with the gravy and whatever veg, usually we have carrots.

chicken fajitas: cut chicken into thin strips, sweet peppers into this strips, white onion into thin strips. Fry up the chicken then add the veg. Serve with salsa, soured cream and guacamole in small tortillas - like a soft taco.

Have a look at Anna’s Family Kitchen on IG. Loads of ideas for interesting family meals on there. Mostly made in one dish or pan too so not too much clearing up!
