To think Kate is truly picture perfect

I mean - who looks that good in all their photos. She’s just so beautiful and incredibly photogenic! Not to mention extremely good at tennis, all other sports and everything else in between. William could not have chosen a better wire!

I think she is pulling off a very difficult role extremely well. Of course she has coaching - as would anyone in such a people facing position. She is and has always been very active and sporty - she is not much slimmer than me (far more toned sadly) and I ate half a huge bar of Dairy Milk earlier washed down with wine....
I like her. She comes from a very grounded background. Her mother and sister are also of a very small build and extremely active types.

Sadly I like sitting on the sofa.

Every article I see about her has at least one picture of her open-mouthed, teeth on display in her oh-so-natural-and-lighthearted roaring laughter display. And a display is quite obviously is.

She's an attractive, slim clothes horse whose sole existence is to be posh and respectable arm candy for the next king. And the production of heirs of course.

There are so many wonderful female role models out there. Women doing actual great things. It baffles me that people think what KM has done with her life is something to admire.

Yes.

Obviously it's KM's job to be inoffensive but charming, photogenic & perfectly groomed, animated but politically neutral. Even more so to rescue the monarchy from the chaos of the previous generation. All of which sounds like hard work and not much fun, but she does it beautifully.

I'm baffled that anyone thinks she is a role model for more normal women, though.

Hers is a very vintage and niche role. I don't understand what it has to say to modern women with careers.

I just don't understand this admiration for good looks. Why is it even noteworthy? It's the most pointless thing to look up to someone for. "You're tall, thin and pretty. Let us praise you." 🤔

I think she's very good at being a royal wife and her and William have just about enough popularity to save the monarchy if Charles let's it go after a decade

But picture perfect? She's not ugly and she's incredibly well groomed and certainly looks better as she ages. I just can't get into the Kate being perfect in every way Vs Meghan being the wicked witch thing

I think she is passionate and warm and that's why people like her. She is a beautiful woman but it's the warmth and charisma that draws people in. I like her. She seems down to earth and grounded.

I'm really not sniping, I'm old enough to be her grandmother, but consider that the camera is said to put 8 pounds on someone. She's way too thin. She reminds me too much of Dianna to rejoice that another young woman is being made to feel that she had to be "picture perfect".

I thought the same today. Her blue coat emphasised how thin she is. She looks as if a puff of wind would blow her away. She has a stunning natural beauty and wonderful hair -so just a few pounds gained would not spoil her appearance in the slightest.

I think KM has a great smile but simultaneously she looks like a generic 41 year old woman that’s well groomed? I saw a recent video of Amanda Seyfried who’s 37 and remember thinking “wow”. So I wouldn’t therefore say KM is perfection as there’s loads of examples of beauty including people with different features.

we’re in 2023 - I don’t think this really holds up. Not all cameras suffer from lens distortion

Shouldn't we want to aim for a world in which all women can be what they want to be? Lizzo and Kate are both incredibly good at what they do. I couldn't see Kate jumping around at Glastonbury playing a flute but neither would I expect Lizzo to visit a charity and shake hands with vast numbers of people, saying something that makes them feel acknowledged and important. Kate has learned how to manage to dress in ways that flatter her and avoid media criticism but it is clear from her mother and sister that all three would all look good dressed in budget clothing without any make up.

I don't think these threads are started to encourage people to praise Kate.

No one who has spent fifteen minutes on MN would post the OP expecting anything other than a deluge of posts criticising Kate for being boring, unaccomplished and too thin.

We'd all look as good, if we had what she has had since 2010. You've only got to look at a lot of female lottery winners a few years on.
Fair play to her, she's got the life she wants, most of us wouldn't want that life at all. One thing that Harry has done is improve the life of the royal children. I was still unsure about the camera being on Zara's children as they cried over the Queen's coffin.

I don't have any real interest on royalty. But I've met K and W, I was standing in for someone else and wouldn't really have chosen to, as I'm an awkward, antisocial fucker at the best of times.
They were actually really lovely, was more surprised by William, he even had me at my ease.
Yes, Kate was slim, but she looked very healthy, and laughed a lot. She was wearing jeans and seemed very relaxed.
I assume she has lots of coaching and help, but quite frankly I hope they do have lots of support, we don't want another Diana. I would rather stick pins in my eyes than do their job.

Hope my daughter grows up into a kept wife too, it's all I've ever dreamt of for her.

Assuming you're serious though OP, I suppose grasping at straws her job title is "celebrity" and she looks no better or worse than any other Hollywood star her age. Most of them are flawlessly groomed while smiling beautifully. It's their job!

She’s seems naturally beautiful, though in some images painfully thin. I hope she gets to slob about and have a takeaway like the rest of us at the end of a long day.

I don’t understand the obsession with the royal family, nor the hatred.

Shes very well groomed but I find her style quite dull. I mean, she’s perfect for the job and has rarely put a foot wrong but I’m a Republican so she’s / they’re never going to impress me much on that score.

I just find her bland I guess. The kind of groomed, fairly ordinary looks that are all over Chelsea and Westminster etc.

I prefer my beauty to have an edge to it - Kate Moss in her 90’s prime, Helena Christiansen, Penelope Cruz, Margot Robbie, Viola David, Charlene Theron for examples.

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn she’d be considered underweight. Some people are naturally very slim. Not so sure that’s the case here. Especially when I look at older pictures of Kate and also her mother… and she’s tiny in real life.

She’s under a lot of scrutiny and it makes sense that she does her best to avoid weight fluctuations and tries to stay very slim.
We should NOT shame her for that.

but I do find it a bit troubling to see how she’s held up as an ideal…
