I need your help with sneaky DH

Took rings off last night left on side of the kitchen sink.
Came down from work and engagement ring has disappeared....mild panic.

Sneaky DH has hidden the ring. I've feigned disinterest but the stakes are high - we now have a game and I have all morning to find it.

All I've been told is it's somewhere in the kitchen. I've had most of the cupboards out and looked in all the glasses etc.

We have young DC so it's nowhere they would be able to find it.

All very petty and I was on the verge of texting for a clue....

I just can't get over his smug face coming and showing me where it was. It will be somewhere obvious I know it.

AIBU to ask for any suggestions? Please help - I need a win today

In the kettle.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 06/07/2023 10:00

Ceiling light.

Norachance · 06/07/2023 10:00

Balanced on top of a picture
Blu tacked to the side of something or under something
In the blender

TheOrigRights · 06/07/2023 10:01

No to teabags and freezer as that's in seperate room.

Why are your teabags kept in a different room to the kitchen? Do you go to 'teabag room' to get a teabag then go back to the kitchen to make the tea?
Or do you have a dedicated tea making room in your house?
Are they kept below stairs where the servants prepare your meals?

Tighginn · 06/07/2023 10:01

Thank God I am single. This is pathetic.

GameOverBoys · 06/07/2023 10:01

My guess is it will be somewhere that you can see it. Like on a shelf or on top of something. Just stand in the middle of the room and really take time to look.

SniggleSnarf · 06/07/2023 10:02

Definitely won't be telling him if I find it.

Love both the car ones.

I'm stumped.

In a small plastic bag tucked into a Jam/Peanut butter/chutney jar...something he knows you use regularly.

Humidititties · 06/07/2023 10:02

The fucking joy suckers are out in force today, seriously lighten up!

OP when DP 'hid' my rings (for a joke) he put them on the top bit of the mug tree, I put his on the necklace I wear everyday and he didn't notice for 3 days

Shufflebumnessie · 06/07/2023 10:02

In the:
flour?
kettle?
Biscuit packet, or barrel?
Oven/grill/Slow cooker/air fryer or similar?
Salad drawer in the fridge?
Cereal packets?
Washing powder?

Tidsleytiddy · 06/07/2023 10:03

Sounds fucking childish to me

Ignore the boring people😂 I think it sounds like fun! My DH moved our car to prank me it was stolen recently. I looked everywhere and had just got to calling the police when he told me. These annoying games keep marriage alive! Definitely check through the coffee granules and bags of flour- Good luck OP!

I’m a pretty light hearted person but childish pranks (like that one) annoy the fuck out of me. Could not be doing with a partner who likes pranks.

Sorry fridge/freezer is in seperate room.

I had already checked teabags. Definitely no servants here - kitchen is very small hence my appreciation of his hiding skillz

What?

Tidsleytiddy · 06/07/2023 10:06

How do people get involved with dickheads like this. It’s not even funny

rainbowstardrops · 06/07/2023 10:06

I reckon it's round the neck of a bottle or something like that.
What sort of places has he hidden things before, so that we can get an idea of his thought process?

SniggleSnarf · 06/07/2023 10:07

Well you don't see it coming at first and then before you know it stuff starts just vanishing.

It will be my knickers next probably

However trivial this thread is, I know I will be checking it until OP finds her ring.

Ok "tradwife". Making your wife search for her car for hours after it was recently stolen sounds hilarious.

Tidsleytiddy · 06/07/2023 10:08

He sounds an irritating, childish tosser

SniggleSnarf · 06/07/2023 10:08

Normally somewhere really obvious.

My steam is well and truly out! Thanks helpful pals!

Cutlery tray? Taped to side of cutlery tray? Or under it? Taped to the inside of a drawer or door? I mean honestly it could be anywhere. If I was up to playing this game (I really wouldn’t be) I would just methodically go round every item or furnishing in order, starting from the door and circuit the entire room.

Mix56 · 06/07/2023 10:09

Look higher, Light fitting?
Under a drawer?
