I'm scared about the costs in England

I'm in Ireland. Last time that I went to England, I was worried about how much things cost there. It's so expensive. It was the transport that totally wiped me out.

Now I'm going to England again next week. I'm going to work on a temporary job there for a month. And I have to get there on Saturday.

The thought of the costs is scaring me!

I will need to stay for one night in London. Then I will get a train to another city. Then I get another train and a bus out to the remote location of my job. That is going to be costly.

My flight from Ireland to England cost 18 euro. My train in Ireland cost 14 euro (I travelled for 2.5 hours on the trap for this price)

I'm worried about all the train costs in the UK. They are so expensive! It's a worry. I remember last time I was in England , I travelled for a very short journey on the train and they charged me fifty pounds.

I'm trying to book the cheapest route in advance. It's a stress though. Just wanted to vent

Quite frankly, while people mean well, they are wasting advice.
Like people did on threads before.
That's why some people are not all ao friendly.

There is also difference between touriat asking about travel in Ireland and someone who reportedly had job in England and was back and fro for month.

"I remember last time I was in England..." well of ourse OP remembers when she got job here in April or May.... I just feel bad for people wasting time advising on some fantasy.

*while people mean well. You mean all the abuse?

And to the rest of your post - Jesus fucking Christ. The amount of stalking that goes on on here. I couldn't tell you a thing about people on here. I never read people's previous history.

Yet there are some women on this thread who said my age, that I own a house, when I was last in England. Etc.

Is that normal behaviour? Some posters have an awful lot of time on their hands.

Yes I last went over to England about April time this year. Sorry am I not allowed to do that? Jesus fucking Christ almighty.

I'm really confused with this. I'm trying to articulate what you are accusing me of fantasising about.

I went to England last march/April. I forget the exact dates. And I now have a new summer job and I am starting next week in East Anglia.

Like how do you think that's not normal? Like seriously what the fuck are you on about?

Peopl go to England from Ireland all the time. People move jobs/ or work two jobs all the time. People take temporary contracts all the time.

We are not in the old way of working, where people stayed in one job for years.

My friend works two jobs. She has her own online social media agency. She also takes temporary contract jobs alongside this.

I also do things like this. I never just work one job.

I've received messages from people saying that they are sorry that I have received abuse on this thread, and that they were too afraid to say anything as they knew they would be attacked.

Lovely poster who sent me this ( I took out your name so you won't get abused).

Seriously wtf is wrong with some people on here

I'm pissed off that I've now been called a fantasist for having had more than one job in one year.

The things that people are abusing me about don't even make sense.

I'm a fantasist for having more than one job in a year? Really? What you're saying makes no sense. Loads of people these days work more than one job, and take temporary contracts.

My friend constantly works two part time jobs online, she has also taken 4 temporary contracts this year.

So she has had worked 6 jobs this year.

I'm annoye at myself that I came back to read this thread. I was having a lovely day today with my friend. I read this thread and I feel really upset. The amount of abuse and nastiness that I received on here is shocking. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I've received several messages from people saying that they were absolutely disgusted at the abuse that I received on here , and they were too afraid to say anything - as they would then be torn to shreds themselves.

There are women on here who genuinely enjoy and get a kick out of abusing other women. This place is a cesspit.

If you are thinking of abusing me again you can write it for sure, but I won't be here to read anymore.

In fairness the craicnet approach would be that if you are trying to get somewhere you don't want to start from here.
I will be in East Anglia soon...we usual go via Stansted but have also gone via Luton and have gone by ferry. I would get the coach. My husband would only go by train. I don't know what train strikes are scheduled.
With abit more information I'm sure we could have been more helpful in general.

If you don’t have a lot of spare cash it is quite scary travelling in the U.K.- because of costs which might be incurred when the train is cancelled/ there is something on the track. Or holdups on the motorway make your coach late. DH was in jams on the M6 for 3 hours the other day.
You then end up with emergency taxi costs or unexpected hotel stays because you’ve missed your connection or flight.

Even if nothing untoward happens it is so expensive! We wanted to get the bus into town from my mum's village - £20 return for me and 3 kids!! It's 20 minutes away.
