Tattoo on her neck!! Not a nice removable henna tattoo or transfer, not something pretty and descrete - oh no, not my DD, she has to go that one step further - a stonking great black/grey rose (her own design) that is noticable from across the street!!

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 23/02/2008 21:21

Her body, and boy will she be sorry. Presume it is permanent ?

Spidermama · 23/02/2008 21:22

Poor you.

pukkapatch · 23/02/2008 21:22

tell me its not permanent?

RipMacWinkle · 23/02/2008 21:22

Oh poor you. Is she young?

I really, really hope she doesn't regret it.
Your neck is a really obvious place.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 23/02/2008 21:22

She is a teen.

How old do you have to be to have a tattoo ?

peanutbear · 23/02/2008 21:22

oh dear! how old is she

why do we do these things when we are young what twist of nature makes us think its such a great idea

How old is she?

i think she will regret it

spamm · 23/02/2008 21:23

I know it is her body and I assume she is over 18, but I would be so upset as well. I feared my mother's disapproval so much, I never dared!

Spidermama · 23/02/2008 21:23

I remember my mum's response when I finally showed her my tattoo (on the arm). She was disgusted and dissapointed. I hated her for it. Now I think she was probably right.

KacyB · 23/02/2008 21:24

OMG? On her neck? How old is she?

I think it depends on her age and also how long she's wanted one... God, I do hope it wasn't a spur of the moment (I think not, given she's designed it herself?)

I don't think tatoos have all the negative conotations they once had, but LOTS of people still regret them..........

And, I'm guessing getting rid of one on your neck (should she ever want to) won't be the easiest thing in the world......

Overall, none......... I don't think you are being unreasonable at all.... I am 36 and my mother would still freak out!!!!!!!!

kayzisbroody · 23/02/2008 21:24

18 to get a tattoo

skidoodle · 23/02/2008 21:24

oh no

how old is she? I think you should have to be 21 to get a tattoo. I know that probably is unreasonable but I stand by it. People under 21 shouldn't be making decisions they can't unmake. Well most of them shouldn't anyway.

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 21:25

How old is she?
If she's 8, YANBU.
If she's 18 YAB a little bit U

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 21:26

So she's 16, according to your profile. Isn't that illegal?

moyasmum · 23/02/2008 21:27

What does she say about it ?

Presume she knows that you will be bouncing because of it, was it rebellion, talked into by a bf,et al.

'Thought thsat licenced tattooists had to work on people over 128?

Can you have a quite word with your doc and see what chance they could take it off?

hippipotami · 23/02/2008 21:28

If she is 16, as per your profile, I would be very very upset. Heck, I would still be upset if she was 18 and older...

I don't care what my children do to their bodies as long as it is not permanent. Piercings can be taken out, tatoos are a whole different ballgame

moyasmum · 23/02/2008 21:29

Thats 18, obviously

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 21:29

128 myoasmum?
