Trying to work out if it is good or not. Does this look like a child that has artistic potential and how old would you expect the child that drew that to be?

Why does it matter?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 29/06/2023 21:29

I don’t think that people trying to guess the age of the artist is a good way to decide if it’s good or not.

It is good - it’s captured what they want to portray about Queen Victoria I think - her attitude to live

EhrlicheFrau · 29/06/2023 21:29

I don't really thing guessing the age matters, because all children develop at different rates - the most important thing is to encourage (though not overdo it), give them access to materials etc and expose them to art in everyday ways.

Soothingaftersun · 29/06/2023 21:31

10 or 11, it's lovely

DameEdna1 · 29/06/2023 21:37

Some of the guesses are hilarious, as if a 5-6 year old could have produced this 😆 my nearly 5yo DS can only manage amoeba people and strange, blob-like shapes that are apparently meant to be moles (the animal.) I've taught one seven year old who could have managed it but she was exceptional, I'm guessing 8+. I don't think it matters anyway- it's a lovely picture and hopefully it gave them enjoyment to create it.

Countingdowntodecember · 29/06/2023 21:40

No idea about the artist’s age but I love it!

Do you think 4 year old do shading like done in the background?

Yr 4/5 is 8-10 years old.

SnuggleBuggleBoo · 29/06/2023 21:44

My money's on 9. I think it's good because it's quirky and captivating - you want to look twice or three times. It's not to my personal taste but if the artist is happy then that's surely the only thing that matters?

Desperatenow1 · 29/06/2023 21:45

I wonder how many guesses one person needs.....

MintyAraminta · 29/06/2023 21:45

I think this thread is really challenging for the mumsnet demographic Grin

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 29/06/2023 21:46

Well I'm 43 and couldn't manage that......so my guess is 44 🤣🤣🤣

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 29/06/2023 21:46

I think yr 4/5 IME

Do you think 4 year old do shading like done in the background?**

Please read my post correctly-it says year 4/5 not 4/5 years! Year 4/5 is age 9/10 years old. If you want to be snarky about a post it’s best to read it properly first. <<clearly snarked back at ya here>>

LivesOnPigeonStreet · 29/06/2023 21:49

I think it would be polite to come back and say what age after 14 pages of guesses.

Totallyconfusedperson · 29/06/2023 21:50

I’m 35 and I don’t think I can draw as well! Well done to your child! I really like the pic

SallyWD · 29/06/2023 21:52

Please put us out of our misery.

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 29/06/2023 21:54

Anything from about age 7-12 depending on how good they are at art.

I could have drawn that at about 7 or 8 (I could draw well as a child, I can copy well as an adult but I’m not very creative). My brother still couldn’t draw it at 39.

I like it. It’s quirky.

Justme1234567 · 29/06/2023 22:00

Is OP really letting this drag on for hours 🙄

RestingMurderousFace · 29/06/2023 22:01

12 year old. It’s good.

TiredCatLady · 29/06/2023 22:04

I’m going to go against the grain and say a fully 30 something adult.

SequinsandStilettos · 29/06/2023 22:06

9

Dovetail40 · 29/06/2023 22:08

52 yr old

Potential to be next banksy

Rewis · 29/06/2023 22:12

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 29/06/2023 16:18

My 6 year old still draws stick figures (or sausage figure as we call them) so I would say 9?

So does the 33yo me.

Steakandquinoa · 29/06/2023 22:16
