How many women do you know who doesn’t wear earrings?

Disclaimer: This is not to be taken too seriously and it’s not affecting my life in any shape or form!

So I’m 36 and don’t have earrings. Don’t like them. Don’t wear them. Don’t even have a holes in my ears. Even as a teenager when I guess you would beg to parents to pierce your ears, I passed that stage without any interest.

And funny enough, now when I’m adult I get ( not a lot but still ) remarks about it.

Like it’s some requirement for a woman to wear ones? Is it considered so normal that when you see someone without ones it’s like you discovered a whole new continent?

I don’t know, is it really that rare for a woman to not like earrings, not wear them, not have a wish to have them or not even pierce my ears?

I have never in my life met anyone who would comment on something this mundane. (Have pierced ears, wear a pair of boring & Other Stories hoops about once a month at the most)

I never wear earrings. I do have holes from when I was a teenager and they're not completely closed but earrings hurt me and I can't be bothered to toughen it out/get them re-pierced. It's probably been about 30 years since I wore them regularly, nearly 20 since I wore them at all.

No-one ever comments on it. My mum doesn't have her ears pierced either. When she was a teacher pupils sometimes bought her earrings as an end of year present which suggests they weren't looking all that closely either!

I have my ears pierced but haven't worn earrings for years. I'm not a big jewellery lover.

Yes @DanceMonster , I like nice jewellery too - I actually worked in the fine jewellery industry before I had my babies, and I'm something of a jewellery fanatic to be honest, but just never felt the need to have earrings either!

😀 I'm intrigued, what other "unconventional views" did these unpeirced weirdo's hold?

I didn't realise I was being such a massive nonconformist just because I don't have peirced ears, I feel like a right anarchist now.

I have my ears pierced but haven’t worn earrings in around 10 years, my kids use to always pull at them when breastfeeding so I stopped wearing them and haven’t put them back in since. Just haven’t been bothered. My mum doesn’t have her ears pierced, and my two daughters don’t 12 and 6 which seems rare these days since most little girls seem to have them but neither has asked. No one has ever commented so I find it strange you get so many comments?

Its unusual to not have pierced ears around here. I haven't worn earrings since dc2 started yanking at them and I really miss them- it might be safe enough to start wearing them again now she's a toddler. I definitely look better wearing them, even simple studs.

I have never worn earrings, and have never had comments on it. Sometimes if someone points out some earrings to me while shopping I might say "Oh I don't have pierced ears" and they are soemtimes surprised, but that's about it.

why are people looking at your ears?!

I have pierced ears, maybe use once a year, sometimes less. :)

I last wore earrings when I got married so 12 years ago and they've pretty much closed up - i think id have to get them re pierced if I wanted to wear earrings again. My ear lobes were quite thick so studs were always uncomfortable and I didn't want to be wearing dangly earrings when the children were small incase they pulled them! DH sometimes says he wishes I wore more jewellery so it was easier to buy me presents but I don't think anyone else has commented apart from my 6yo dd who wants hers pierced like some of her friends asking me why I don't!

I only wear earrings if I am going out for lunch or dinner. I only wear makeup then too.

I got mine done as an early teen, then wore them a bit in 20s, but now late 30s I’ve not worn them in years because every time I did they would irritate my ears. Not sure I’d even be able to get them through the holes.

Me! They are pierced but I don't bother wearing earrings these days. No one has ever mentioned it and I'd think it weird if they did tbh. DD1 is fascinated by my empty bellybutton piercing though. It does look a bit weird after two kids!

Well, me for one! Never wanted my ears pierced, as I think it's barbaric. And clip ons are so uncomfortable. My best friend would say the same, and we're both 58. Can't say that anyone has ever really commented.

I never got my ears pierced. It came up for the first time in years recently when I got married and hair stylist asked if I would be wearing ear rings.

I don't and neither do my two adult daughters. I had mine pierced as a child but as an adult developed an allergy to seemingly all metal and get contact dermatitis so I took them out and took off all jewellery. My dd's never wanted theirs piercing so they didn't and haven't ever worn earrings.

I have pierced lobes 3 in each wore earrings a lot up until my teens then took them out hardly wear earrings now.
I do have how ever other piercings in my ears like rook, Conch and helix and a septum piercing 🤣🤣 also 36 years old i don't mind them like them but my lobes I've never been fussed with keep Jewellery in them.

I have my ears pierced but don’t always wear anything in them I can’t say I notice what other women do aside from noticing big hoops or something. I’d certainly never comment on a woman not having pierced ears, what a weird thing for someone to do.
