Am i the only one in the world who doesn't see the fasination in Amy Winehouse?

Why does everyone say she is such a great talent and amazing? What am i missing?

I saw her on the Brits and she looked and sounded like a drunk pub singer to me

Her lyrics are GREAT - salacious and true - and her voice is AMAZING. and I love that retro sound/modern lyrics thing. She's great. She's just ill and fucked. And behaving hideously, like all addicts do.

It's funny though how we all tell our kids drinking too much and drugs are bad and wrong. Yet here we are with people paying to support someone drug addition, and AW is laughing in everyones faces cause she clearing couldn't give two shites about her fans.

LOL! I thought it was just me. I just don't get it. Don't like her voice and think she is grubby, in need of a good bath, some decent make-up remover and a good meal.

How does she ever get a brush through her hair? She looks like Barbie's evil twin, a bit Odile and Odette!, she is too skinny and nobbly with a big lollypop head.

Phew, I never thought I would get so much satisfaction having a good rant about Amy Winehouse!

i was surprised to hear that amy w went to that Brits School too - seem to me like 'The Brits' has just become a way of promoting ex pupils from the Brits school? all seems a bit too cosy for comfort.

that 'Adele' is the next one. just graduated from Brit school, then she is at 'The Brits' having been voted 'critics choice' by critics who i suspect will be strogly involved with the school too in some way

Kate Nash came from the Brits school too didn't she? She doesn't sing but talks in a slight singing way if that makes sense? Like Lilly Allen does. Is that the thing now, to talk through your records and call it singing?

i paied to see an artist perform which she did very well,she earns her money just like everybody else,yes she is an addict and it is wrong but its not her fans fault,she would find the money if she was not famous
and she is clean now

Wasn't it stated that most schoolgirls want to be jordan. Thay don't even know what she does. The mind boggles.

I agree with unquietdad - she looked better curvy. I like her music/voice but I do think it is often affected by the drugs/booze, which is a shame. She is a strange one. I wonder if she got into drugs to avoid feeling self-conscious - cos she will never be normal lets face it. At the Grammys she looked very uncomfortable when she had to make a speech - til she got her nerve up and referred to her Blake - incarcerated That did make me chuckle. As if he was some kind of freedom fighter or something! The skirt grabbing, trotting on the spot.......all strange. She could do with a choreographer methinks.

vitomum - I thought the same about the Brits school.. I know Leona Lewis can be a bit ...dull... and her dress was awful but I do think she's a very talented singer and was surprised she didn't get one of the four Brits she was nominated for... then I realised a lot of the "winners" were from the Brit school. Cynic ? me ? Never

Anyway - back to AW
