Anyone seen the No Hard Feelings trailers? I feel like I’ve been vaulted back to 1993. So so bad.

So fucking what. I enjoyed them 🤷‍♀️

Good for you.

I was answering someone else who asked why she isn't getting cast and the answer is her last few films didn't do very well financially or critically.

SocksAndTheCity · 17/06/2023 20:22

I loved her (and Amy Adams) in American Hustle. I never really understood why that didn't get a bit more acclaim, unless it did and I missed it.

stayathomer · 17/06/2023 20:32

Haven’t watched and don’t think I can just because of her age irl (I don’t know how old she’s meant to be in the movie). If she were around his age (irl) I’d probably find it funny but I have teenagers so ew!!!

Pinkfluff76 · 17/06/2023 22:44

Agree, it looks like a load of shit

Your one pf those that likes to find something to moan about I'm everything, are you bored or something?

Darlingx · 18/06/2023 05:19

I think it does matter what’s put out there. How women are viewed through what lens. I remember being in India when Basic Instinct 2 was showing I went to see Munich but it explained a lot about the perception of western women and their freedoms. I was treated like having blonde hair and very pale skin meant I was aligned with their perception of the liberal nympomaniac western woman ideals often mythologised and frankly it was bloody annoying because the fat pay cheques and minders and security detail were missing from the concept of reality. U know where u can stir menfolk up into a frenzy but live in gated community with a driver and let the woman who don’t live that privilege take the hit. In a funny way it’s selling womankind out. We deserve something better with the scance chances we get to affect the landscape.

Sorry? ‘Moaning about everything’? It’s not a race to the bottom. I saw the trailers and was surprised that a movie like this got made in 2023. And judging by the replies I’m not alone. I don’t see anyone ‘moaning’, simply stating their perspective.

It’s basically failure to launch but with a younger cast!!! So are we gonna rip that apart or because the cast is older that’s ok? Like others have said it’s a film, it’s not real and how can you decide on a one minute trailer of an hour long film.

Greengreengrass231 · 17/06/2023 19:35

Can’t stand her after all that fake tripping at the Oscar’s, attention seeking lark

I absolutely can't stand her. Every interview I watch with her she is the most loud, irritating, immature, attention seeking. Just awful. But... I liker a lot of her movies and I am guessing she must be pretty good at what she does because she doesn't come across as how she actually is!

Failure to Launch is about a grown man who isn't moving out because he likes his home comforts, not a teenager who his parents think needs to have sex before college. They're not even remotely the same Confused

DarrellRiversCriminalBehaviourOrder · 19/06/2023 17:55

Isn't the guy in Failure to Launch traumatised after being bereaved?

DysonSpheres · 20/06/2023 12:30

Just returned to the thread. I love Passengers!!! Sci-fi films always get trashed. The only sci-fi films to get any acclaim in the last few years is Arrival and Intersteller. There's a dearth of decent Sci-fi.

Mother! apparently she felt pushed into doing things she didn't want or something and was having a very ill advised affair (?) With the director(?) where the power dynamic was heavily skewed.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Celeb gossip isn't my forte.

jenandberrys · 16/06/2023 18:09

It's a film, not a bloody self help guide. Pretty Woman is a great film but not a great life plan.

Haha! I agree!

itshotontheplayground · 20/06/2023 13:14

Thank god we don't live in North Korea and films like this still exist!

Totally inappropriate for a movie night in a Primary school,
of no interest for a lot of people, I am sure a lot of people won't that impressed by American Pie either, can't blame them,

so what? Don't like it, don't watch it. I can't imagine living in a world where one person would be in charge of what is acceptable or appropriate or non-offensive.

You are entitled to refuse to watch it, others are entitled to make it. No one is losing out.

None of us have seen it, but let's assume it really is incredibly offensive and inappropriate.

Why is Jennifer Lawrence getting all the criticism and opprobrium? Why not the writer, director, producers, studio head honchos, the rest of the cast?

Why is it all her fault?

Oh, not you again. Jeez…

IDontWantToBeAPie · 20/06/2023 23:59

Idk I do think it looks funny tbh. There are plenty of films with topics you wouldn't like in real life out there - with everything from abuse to murder in genres from horror to comedy.

aurynne · 21/06/2023 00:16

I haven't heard a single thing about this movie that makes it interesting to me but... for the love of God people, not every movie is made as a moral message. in parable, I quite enjoy movies that tell a story, and I have enough of a brain to decide whether I agree with it morally or not. And guess what, I can still enjoy the entertainment in a movie I don't morally agree with.

burnoutbabe · 21/06/2023 07:42

I suppose it's just overall disappointing when a top female actress has to do this sort of low brow movie. It's more the sort of thing you do on your way up. When you take whatever is offered. Or you acknowledge you are Nicholas cage and just do anything (and I enjoyed his latest one where he plays Nicholas cage)

lljkk · 21/06/2023 09:59

Maybe JL has fun doing fluffy comedies.

roses2 · 23/08/2023 08:57

I just watched this movie. Not bad for a lazy afternoon but christ what has she done to her face! Far too much botox.
