I eat chocolate every night, it’s all I’ve ever known

ive had chocolate every night after dinner since I can remember, my parents always gave me a choc bar each night. I still do this now in my 30s and can’t have an evening without. Anyone else do this in their household?

That’s never been a thing for me, no.

I eat a family sized / share bar of either Galaxy caramel or Milkybar every single day (not all in one go, I’ll have a few squares every time
I have a tea really) and have done for at least the last 25 years 🙈 it’s an awful habit and I could do with losing some weight but I just really love chocolate. To be fair it’s my only vice, I don’t drink / smoke / do drugs and I eat very healthily otherwise. I just love it.

Woah that is a sizeable amount of chocolate!

Although is milky bar chocolate - barely.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/06/2023 23:01

We used to be allowed a chocolate bar every night only after tea. DD comes home from school and has something before tea which I know isn't ideal. I don't have chocolate every night

OneTC · 14/06/2023 23:01

Until very recently I ate sweets every day. I've sort of stopped having them recently and it's honestly harder than giving up smoking. I can avoid them for a week or so and then I eat a kilo of maltesers

purpleegg · 14/06/2023 23:02

I like a vegan Magnum of an evening.

Apricotflanday · 14/06/2023 23:04

I have chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, or hot chocolate nearly every night and have all my adult life certainly. Does that count?
This evening I had chocolate and strawberry ice cream with raspberries and cherries for dinner. A sort of healthy version as it had fruit added! :)

Splat92 · 14/06/2023 23:07

I eat chocolate every day but doesn't have to be at night

MovinGroovinBarbie · 14/06/2023 23:13

Most weeks I'll cane a two pack of Greggs Belgian buns in one sitting at some point, but mostly I try and have some fruit. I can make a 180g pack of choc raisins or peanuts disappear pretty quick but I burn it off lifting.

kerstina · 14/06/2023 23:18

To the poster who said they didn’t like vegan chocolate have you tried Rhythm 108? It’s extremely moreish and melts in your mouth. Swiss vegan chocolate . You can buy this in Sainsbury’s not cheap though !

uncomfortablydumb53 · 14/06/2023 23:29

Every night without fail
60g( half a bar) of Lindt milk with whole hazelnuts.
I only eat one meal a day and healthy BMI etc
Life's too short

ThreeCoursesForMe · 14/06/2023 23:30

I do too :) I'm on the skinny side, work out, happy, eat well etc it's just my bit of daily indulgence and I'll never give it up! Same as other posters I don't drink or smoke etc, bit of Dairy Milk never hurt anyone! It's usually an M&S cappuccino truffle bar actually...divine

Oopsadaisysgranny · 15/06/2023 00:04

Oh yes you are not alone until recently I have eaten some chocolate or kiddy sweets every night in bed !!! Have done since before I can remember. It’s a bloody hard habit to beat

Dazedandbemused0 · 15/06/2023 00:19

I don’t, but my granny dos and she’s in her 80s and fit as a fiddle so there must be something in it 😁 maybe it’s just that little bit of happiness boosting the immune system!

KohlaParasaurus · 15/06/2023 00:24

At some point as an adult I got into the habit of having some chocolate every evening after dinner when I'm at home. I may occasionally have gone without dinner to leave more room for chocolate. It's not a big deal, I don't eat massive amounts at a time and DH is an obliging chocolate-eating buddy.

Hotandverybothered · 15/06/2023 00:31

Am just about to eat a Kit Kat before going to bed!!

pippapipps · 15/06/2023 00:55

Me!! I'd say for a few years now I've been eating chocolate every day usually mid morning mostly dark chocolate but I'd eat half a big bar each morning 🫣😆
I do feel like I shouldn't but then I think life is short and there's worse food I could be eating 🤷‍♀️

Sarahtm35 · 15/06/2023 01:01

i have to have some form of chocolate every single day. Chocolate is a staple.

lastminutewednesday · 15/06/2023 05:21

I'm trying to eat in calorie deficit at the minute as I've about a stone to lose. So aiming for 1000-1200 calls a day. Within that though I always leave room for 100 calories worth of a skinny whip-I've got the worst sweet tooth ever and if I don't satisfy it in some way it's counter productive as I somehow feel hungrier and it's much harder to stick to the plan.

IncompleteSenten · 15/06/2023 05:53

As a kid, no. Puddings weren't really a daily thing in our house growing up. I'd get one on a Saturday at my grandparents. Treats were a 10p mix from the shop maybe weekly.
As an adult, no. I'm diabetic. I can't remember the last time I ate chocolate or had sweet treats/puddings.

But there's nothing wrong with having some chocolate every day if that's what you want and if your health allows. That's the good thing about being an adult, you get to make those decisions for yourself.

Secondrater · 15/06/2023 06:31

Nope. Can't say that's a thing here!

I do eat well generally and definitely eat something 'crap' each day, but not chocolate (yesterday I had a yum yum). I could easily stop though.

User16387640 · 15/06/2023 06:37

I do and I have a large ginger jar which I try and keep topped up with Lindt Lindors

Mistressofnone · 15/06/2023 07:00

I have a bit of chocolate every day too, mostly in the evenings. I have a chocolate drawer that DH keeps out of, otherwise he'll tuck into my good stuff and then comment that he prefers dairy milk.

Why ginger?

Irequireausername · 15/06/2023 07:17

I was raised on a diet of UPFs 😂 so yes I had 2 chocolate bars a day growing up. One at school and one when I got home.

I don't now and haven't for many years.

Sadly I am lactose intolerant so can only manage 85% dark chocolate and even then only one or two squares. So I have that after dinner each day. I used to love milk chocolate, my favourite was galaxy caramel. I just can’t eat it any more without severe pain

Have you tried nomo chocolate? It stands for no more missing out and is the best dairy free chocolate I’ve tried, they have a caramel filled bar.
