ive had chocolate every night after dinner since I can remember, my parents always gave me a choc bar each night. I still do this now in my 30s and can’t have an evening without. Anyone else do this in their household?

Don’t beat yourself up life is too short just to sit on the settee and eat an apple!

I have just sat and had a cup of tea with an apple, it’s my nightly habit now 😂

Arewehumanorarewecupboards · 14/06/2023 21:52

No although growing up we always had dessert. Now I have peppermint tea and have never given the dc dessert. I don’t know why as I’ve got nothing against it.

whoamitojudge · 14/06/2023 21:52

I did until I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes almost two years ago and I haven’t eaten chocolate, sweets or biscuits since

HoneybeesAndBluebells · 14/06/2023 21:52

Not necessarily chocolate but always something sweet, I find the longer I leave it the stronger the cravings get and I just binge. 😫
Even just a sweet cuppa Brew would do me, definitely need my sugar fix.

ilovepixie · 14/06/2023 21:52

Not a chocolate bar but I have a hot chocolate every night before bed. I've done it all my life.

Royalbloo · 14/06/2023 21:53

Not normal imo - no criticism here but I'd only have a couple of squares once a week ish unless menstrual.

Not bragging at all but I still have Easter eggs. Just absolutely not a habit for me.

TwoFluffyDogsOnMyBed · 14/06/2023 21:53

I don’t tend to eat it at night but I have at least 50 grams of 70 percent chocolate for breakfast every day. It’s actually very nutritious (high in magnesium, iron, fibre, other stuff I can’t remember…). I’ve slightly gone off milk chocolate as I’ve got older …not helped by Cadbury’s being ruined. Sainsbury’s own brand chocolate is now better than Cadbury’s. Anyway, I do eat it in a frenzied, addicted sort of way but it’s sickly.

Royalbloo · 14/06/2023 21:55

But absolutely not having a go or trying to be smug. If there was cold pizza in the house or sausage rolls, they'd be demolished in seconds!

Thepossibility · 14/06/2023 21:55

I've been eating chocolate in the afternoons with a cup of tea to get me through the rest of the day.

HareRaising · 14/06/2023 21:57

To me chocolate is in the same ball park as sweets - something that children have. I never eat sweet stuff like puddings or biscuits in general though. Cheese however...!

Castlereagh · 14/06/2023 21:57

I used to do this, a bar of chocolate or a packet of sweets. Wasn't fat either. But then I realised it was doing something really bad to my blood sugar because I was waking up with my heart racing and feeling rough some hours later. So I swapped it to fruit and natural yogurt but straight after my dinner so not late at night. Slept much better but no thinner weirdly.

Royalbloo · 14/06/2023 21:58

Am also addicted to eating (sucking) these mints. My Nan used to keep them in her handbag, always a bit sticky. I can't stop!

Castlereagh · 14/06/2023 21:59

Oh I also have/had loads of cavities probably from the same habit 😁

Rightnowstraightaway · 14/06/2023 21:59

I have chocolate every day, but not at night as I don't sleep as well.

notafruit · 14/06/2023 22:04

I have chocolate every day. Most evenings I'll have one of those little bars you get 11 in a pack from Aldi. Mini delights I think.
Also, managed to lose 2 stone last year. Had one of those or a skinny whip every day. And my teeth are fine.

PinkRiceKrispies · 14/06/2023 22:08

I eat chocolate throughout the day. Often at lunch and then again in the evening. I don't drink any alcohol or smoke and am a healthy weight.

bonfirebash · 14/06/2023 22:10

I do but at lunch time
One of those moser roth mini bars from Aldi

I clicked on the thread thinking you'd get slaughtered. Heartened to see so many people enjoying their treats without much sanctimonious nay saying.

I don't eat chocolate but I do have an ice lolly after dinner every night. Occasionally a Cornetto.

RampantIvy · 14/06/2023 22:12

No, but I did have a mini magnum this evening.
I try not to get into the habit though as it is a hard habit to break.

kerstina · 14/06/2023 22:12

Yes I do ! Crave it so probably totally addicted . One of the few pleasures in life ! I don’t eat sweets though at all.

HalloweenOnChristmas · 14/06/2023 22:12

DH and I do. Although recently we've swapped to a slice of Ryvita with Nutella and chopped banana. It's our 9pm treat!

LozengeShaped · 14/06/2023 22:14

I used to come home from junior school every day, and watch Peyton Place with my mother, while we each ate a walnut whip! Yum!

alpha1help · 14/06/2023 22:15

the highlight of my day is my evening cuppa with chocolate!

doingthehokeykokey · 14/06/2023 22:16

I’d love to, but I’d be fat.

Fizbosshoes · 14/06/2023 22:17

Yes same here. Usually 2 or 3 squares.
