So this happened a few miles away from where I live.
Call me old fashioned but I think this is totally inappropriate and somebody should have called the police.
I have been a naturist for 40 years but the old fashioned kind who doesn't think dangling your genitals in front of families and young children who have gone for a meal is at all appropriate.
I would question why they found the need to do this. There are plenty of naturist clubs in the area.
People go to naturist clubs to get an all over tan and be a member of an organisation that usually has a pool and cheap membership.
My non naturist friends think I'm being stuffy and ridiculous am I?

Diners shocked as naked pair enjoy meal in Burnham-On-Sea pub

Diners at a Burnham-On-Sea pub say they were shocked after a naked man and woman walked into the bar and were served a meal.

I don't think it's too much to ask that people keep their genitalia covered in public, unless in a place specifically designated for nudism where one could reasonably expect to encounter naked people.

MrsLighthouse · 09/06/2023 18:01

Naked bum cracks on seats someone else is expected to sit on afterwards !! No thanks 😳 Restaurants have the right to refuse entry ( no ties etc ) so l’d judge any restaurant more for allowing this. As for the naked couple…grow up and cover up !

Carryonkeepinggoing · 09/06/2023 18:27

It doesn’t matter if it’s hard academic science or not if you then try to use the results in a misleading way.

Utterknowitall · 09/06/2023 18:49

Inclusivity my arse. I hope they had clean cracks and brought something to sit on.

I mostly think this is funny and just can't get worked up about it. I don't have the hang ups about nudity that most British people seem to have though.

No need for the Brit bashing - many countries would take a damn harder line than us Brits - but would you want your child to be the next sitting in the chair covered in their genitalia sweat? Bum cheeks spread and then your kid is on the seat? Seriously? You’d be ok with that? And you’d be ok with that because you don’t have british hang-ups? Nonsense.

JaffaCake70 · 09/06/2023 19:05

I just can't get past naked bums and ball sacks on restaurant seats.

Grim.

nopuppiesallowed · 09/06/2023 19:07

The term 'inclusivity' perplexes me. (See article). Where is the line to be drawn? Gay marriage? Acccepted now because of inclusivity (don't flame me - not the only reason for inclusion, though I'll always stand with the biblical stance that marriage is between a man and a woman). Transwomen in women's loos - inclusivity? I ask again - where does it end? Nude men and women wandering into a pub for a meal? Should that come under 'inclusivity? If so, I'll keep my eyes out for a group of naturist shoppers in John Lewis...Thing is, if your morality and views are fluid and depend on the ideas and mores of the moment, you have to wonder if what is not acceptable now could be common a few years down the line.

Catsmere · 10/06/2023 00:11

Malcolm Boura seems very invested in his “right” to parade his genitalia in front of women and children anywhere, anytime, and in telling women we have no right to say no. That’s not naturism - it’s bog-standard male entitlement and predatory behaviour imo. Men in women’s toilets, shelters, you name it - it’s all the same stance, rolling back women’s rights and protections.

They sat in the corner, minding their own business eating their lunch, not like they where swinging it about, it no worse than when a woman gets her boob out to breast feed her baby in the middle of pub, but if anyone was to moan about that, there would be an uproar, people need lighten up.

Are you seriously comparing someone sitting with their dick on show for no reason other than 'I want to'... to a woman literally feeding her baby?

Catch yourself on, what a ridiculous comparison.

LadyMuckingabout · 10/06/2023 16:25

They weren’t just sitting in a corner. They walked in naked, went to a table, touched the furniture with bums etc (including flopping testicles), possibly walked to the loos, and had to walk out again. Even possibly brushing against people as one sometimes accidentally does.

They are exhibitionists. The end.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 10/06/2023 16:33

Flashing is a gateway crime to more serious sex offences. Any adults who deliberately expose their genitals in front of unconsenting others - especially children - should be investigated by the police. If only to establish whether they are simply adults lacking in social skills and awareness of other's rights or to establish that they're an actual threat to children's safety.

No people shouldn't lighten up about it. Don't be ridiculous.

stbrandonsboat · 10/06/2023 17:22

It won't be long before people are walking around naked in all kinds of places. People already go out in their underwear. They'll be having sex in public next, like animals rutting in the fields. No dignity or self respect. Yes I know I'm old fashioned...thank God 🙄

Mothership4two · 11/06/2023 01:03

Lockheart · 07/06/2023 13:27

Pretty much this.

Being naked isn't a fetish, and the human body is not disgusting.

I'd find it strange but not appalling. I'd rather they restricted it to nudist-friendly venues but as others have said, they weren't doing anything illegal. If someone isn't breaking the law and is leaving me alone then it's up to me to leave if I have an issue.

^^ this and ** this

Usually always a man showing his erect penis for a reaction of shock and disgust and then leaving quickly so as not to get caught ie would not sit down and have a meal in a pub

I genuinely don't know whether there's a connection between adults who display their genitals in public places in front of children / unconsenting adults & sex offenders? I do know that flashing has been demonstrated to be a gateway offence to more serious sex crimes so we should err on the side of caution and check these people out.

An erection is neither here nor there. The crime depends on the intent. Which is very hard to prove, of course.

So many special people these days who simply have to 'express themselves' by drawing the maximum amount of attention they can. Nothing remotely remarkable about them, so they have to breech social norms to get noticed. Its extremely tiresome and intrusive for other people, as much as you want to myob, they make it nigh on impossible for you to ignore them. They need to grow up, and the pub needs to give over trying to appease this nonsense.

This.

thie worlds gone mad

Yes, it's really not a pleasant thought, is it?

People want to live their lives as they see fit, all the while screaming, "Look at me! Look at me!". I am surprised they didn't walk in and do a "Nannie0nannie-boo-boo. Kiss my little tutu I am naked, and you are stuck with looking at mememememememe!"

Nanaof1 · 12/06/2023 07:55

ArabeIIaScott · 09/06/2023 16:51

Yes, we're now getting a lesson on how children are deprived of seeing nude bodies and this is causing labioplasty.

That reasoning was stretched tighter than a rubber band wound around a watermelon, thrice.
