Nose piercing at 45?

have been considering getting my nose (nostril) pierced for about 25 years. I’m 45 now and feeling that if I’m going to do it I should just do it!

I work in a professional role but have crazy coloured hair that doesn’t raise many eyebrows these days. Peers at work have nose piercings (but I assume had them from young). A colleague is getting visible tattoos at 50.

so, should I go for it or would I be ridiculous to do it?

Did you have an appointment booked or was this a spur of the moment ?

I booked my daith piercing then when I had my forward helix I thought "I'll go and book" but they had spaces so I went for it (I'd been thinking about it for a while too)

I had an appointment to re-pierce my ears at 10am. She had said she could do a nose piercing on the same appt if I wanted to.

I had it done at Selfridges aged 42 😊

Hurt like a bastard so take painkillers before hand!

Still have it in quite happily mid 50s, mostly forget that it's there!

I'm 37 soon and in one ear I have a double helix, conch, double lobe and a tragus and in the other I have an industrial, daith, double lobe and a fake conch ring. I have one tattoo and another one booked. Apparently I'm having a mid life crisis, I'm like there are worse things I could be doing and it's said by people who don't seem to like individuality.

People will judge you on everything so you may as well do what makes you happy and ignore the prim and proper people who shudder at non conformity.

I had to read this thread twice when I found it on Sunday morning - I could have written this, always wanted my nose done and actually mentioned it to husband and DD on saturday as one of the thigns I regretted not doing

Took DD to town yesterday and got it done! Hurt for a bit and im worried about healing time (slow healer so expecting to leave this stud in for a year and not change it) had a tragus bar so I can change the top stud if I want to in that time but i am going to endevour to leave it alone

Everyone I have told so far either thought I had it done, or wants it done so there are more of us out there!!

It’s just fallen out in the shower. 😭. I can’t get it back in. It’s a corkscrew type. Have messaged the piercer but in need to get it sorted and ready for work!

Sorted it. Was a matter of angles.
