Lots of threads on PS at the moment but I'd like to look a bit more closely at Dan Wootton the so called celebrity expert who is literally salivating over the Holly and Phil controversy. This is the man who writes horrible vitriol about celebrities daily. He stuck the knife into Caroline flack repeatedly. I'm not defending Phil, he's done wrong and the whole culture at ITV seems toxic but seriously? Is this ok? Do these people honestly want to push people to the very brink with their witch hunts?

I like Eamon Holmes and I think he has a relevant point to make but pairing up with Dan is just awful and cheap. Dan actually interviewed Kerry Katona recently who made many references to Caroline Flack (in a positive light) and Dan just sat there utterly barefaced as if he wasn't part of the media circus that pushed her to suicide.

It really seems like they won't be happy until Phil does something to harm himself at which point he'll probably change his tune and talk about what a great bloke he is. Utter utter scum.

Oh and not only has he gone quiet on Twitter for 7 days he has deleted all his HE tweets. He is the most loathsome presenter ever and Daily Heil rivers of filth comments so here's hoping it's all true and the end of him.

Actually the ex did not say blackmail , but accused Dan wootton of paying for the video .

I am guessing that DW has a hold on some powerful people for some reason ? Let’s wait and see because at the moment the ex is laying self open to law suits galore if he is telling lies .

Just seen them on Twitter. Not a whisper of it on any news outlets. But the latest one surely means there needs to be a police investigation.

Gosh for those who don't want to go to the cesspool of twitter they will have to remain blissfully ignorant.

I would hope the press are investigating thoroughly before releasing any reports on this .

I feel very sorry for the young men who’ve come forward about Dan Wootton this week, particularly the most recent one. If what they say he’s allegedly done is true, I hope the police reopen the investigation to the one who shared his story last night and Dan Wootton gets put behind bars.

I think it’s very unlikely DW will see prison over this.

Even if the allegations are true. There’s unlikely to be any evidence. The victim sharing their story, unfortunately, won’t be seen as a credible witness due to their job, their past issues and the fact that they have decided SM is the way to go with this. Rather than legal action. And I get why, because they won’t be seen as credible.

People on SM asking people to dm them if they were a victim of DW so they can collate stories, even though they don’t have a legal role aren’t helping either.

There should be a police investigation. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was true. But I think, realistically, he won’t see a prison.

One would hope if a series of seemingly credible accusations are made by people prepared to go on the record then GBNEWS should suspend him facing an investigation as was the case with HE.

@savory I’ve read the statement from that person and they are very open that they have been accused of coercion before and the reasons behind it.
It seems they have a long history of being abused by exploitative older men since they were a homeless 15 year old. They also admit their history and behaviour is complex - it does in all likelihood mean DW will never be held to account for what he did to this man but I do believe the statement.

I don’t think anyone in that position would open them selves up to the scrutiny that will come from the likes of GBNews and Daily Record.
Even people who don’t behave well can be victims and DW seems to have been very good at targeting vulnerable people who will not be believed.

I'm torn between thinking that people can do whatever they like as long as it's legal and being blackmailed is absolutely awful but that this is a risk they take when talking to strangers on line and so have little sympathy.
It's all so sordid.

They dropped that article 1 minute after he went on air and that's why 2 of his alleged victims felt able to go public on Twitter, they had a major media organisation, reporters and lawyers behind them. Explosive indeed Hew Edwards seems quaintly Victorian in comparison. They say they have spent 3 years on the investigation. If he is innocent then he needs his lawyers and probably himself to get a statement out pronto. No other media outlet has picked it up yet. John Sweeney does a lot for Byline Times. as do other very reputable reporters from the MSM.

As he’s written for the Sun and currently writes for The a daily Mail, I suspect they won’t be picking up the story, which is in direct contrast to The BBC who did report extensively on the HE allegations.
