The previous resident used LSD in copious amounts!

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:02

It's cheap !
You would need months and lots of money to do it up though

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:05

I liked the lady peeking through the window
Quirky.
The rest , not so much tbh
Unusual designs and paintings.

OneFrenchEgg · 31/05/2023 21:05

I love it . Looks like an art student house share.

Mummyratbag · 31/05/2023 21:08

I have now been ear wormed Sunshine on Leith!

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:10

Sunshine on Leith is one of my dh's favorite films. I don't like musicals, but it is good.

Stravaig · 31/05/2023 21:10

That green, green, blue colour combo in the wooden floor room is great.
I think I'd have to keep something, as a sort of truth window / joy portal to the previous residents!

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:12

I'd probably keep the lady at the wonky window
If only as a talking point !

Sandrine1982 · 31/05/2023 21:15

I'm pretty sure Trainspotting was filmed here!!! There's also a scene where Renton is running down Leigh road. Aaaaaah, I miss Edinburgh ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Peacepudding · 31/05/2023 20:24

Well it was lived in by somebody who THOUGHT they were an artist. In reality they had absolutely no visual eye whatsoever.

My thoughts exactly. The hallway looks like it was papered with random birthday wrapping.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:19

I knew someone who papered a bedroom in old beano comics! It was certainly different

TomorrowsPrincess · 31/05/2023 21:19

What in the sticky back plastic Blue Peter paper machè is going on here??? 😂

Wow!

choccytime · 31/05/2023 21:19

Bathroom s great

youboozeyoulose · 31/05/2023 21:21

storminamooncup · 31/05/2023 20:36

Junkie neighbourhood, if you couldn't tell from the photos!

And the award for the snobbiest post goes to...

Mummyratbag · 31/05/2023 21:24

@the80sweregreat - saw The Proclaimers live, I wasn't sure before I went, but they were really good.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:26

I had tickets for the proclaimers , but we had to sell them on as couldn't make it in the end
It was great , apparently
They are very good.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 31/05/2023 21:28

I moved into a flat in London with similar decor, let's just say Dulux Once should get done for under delivering!

MistyGreenAndBlue · 31/05/2023 21:29

"At least it's not boring"

Well ok but there is a difference between artistic and eclectic and just making a random mess of your home.
My home has no grey or magnolia. I have hand painted murals (done by me) and some pretty wallpapers too, so I'm not against an arty/ colourful look by any means. But this is just a big clashing disaster.

SnugAsA · 31/05/2023 21:33

Paint can fix a lot of things, but it would take a while to forget what was under the paint. I don't particularly like even nice murals, tbh, but these!

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 21:35

I think you'd have to have a few walls re plastered. The green ones in particular

sadieshavingashindig · 31/05/2023 21:38

Still, there's an absolutely cracking pub on that street.

Fam23 · 31/05/2023 21:41

Christ, I don’t think any amount of paint would erase that from my memory!
I think they should have painted over before they tried to sell it 😰

notprincehamlet · 31/05/2023 21:44

You'd be wandering the streets trying to avoid going home to all those shades of green and naked people.

ODFOx · 31/05/2023 21:45

I'm a bit sad that the window artwork is skew. I wouldn't be able to live with the diagonal window but a trompe l'oeil window with imagined neighbour would be cool.
Such a fun atmosphere. Some I'd change, some I'd keep, but none is off putting: it's k only paint!

Reigateforever · 31/05/2023 21:48

It is now private but was social housing stock, isn’t it?
