Mizzy (TikTok "prankster")

Are we allowed to talk about this young man's videos and the wider impact he may have on youth culture?

(Not sure as it involves ongoing legal issues, I believe?)

I don't live in London, nor do I watch TikTok, so the behavior of this young man, and the police's lack of action towards him, has really shocked me! How was he only arrested and fined AFTER becoming infamous online? How is asking a lone young woman if she "wants to die" seen as funny?

Given his notoriety, I'm worried he will lead to a load of copycats now Angry

This screams mental illness. Why isn't he being whisked away to some mental health facility to be assessed? This isn't normal, whether it's called pranks or not.

No it’s not.
It’s attention seeking behaviour.
Its “ I wanna be famous”
It’s “I wanna be rich” ( without actually working for anything. )
Attention seeking people aren’t bothered about the type of attention they get, positive, negative, adoring, hating doesn’t matter to them as long as they’re noticed.
It’s sad, it’s annoying as hell as any teacher will tell you but it’s not mental illness. He could go and get himself a job but that wouldn’t feed his ego.

Mizzy is a stupid twat but hey, he isn't going to give a shit about what women on here think about him... 🙄

He probably can’t read, anyway. He doesn’t look literate.

ScreamingBeans · 29/05/2023 19:48

And the bloody media calling him a pranksster rather than something he wouldn't like, like "intimidator". He intimidates people he knows won't fight back, that's not pranking. When I first saw the videos I felt a bit concerned for him that he would get hurt because he didn't understand the level of fear and fight, flight or freeze he was causing, but that's when I thought he was about 14.

Social Media should have a rule that if you post stuff like that, you're banned, full stop. That would put a stop to it. But they won't because money.

RavenclawLuna · 29/05/2023 15:05

He's going to "prank" the wrong person in London.

And when he does provoke a reaction from someone hopefully that person will not be held responsible for injuries this moron receives.

Lampzade · 29/05/2023 19:50

He would probably love the fact that he has his own dedicated Mumsnet thread.
He wouldn’t give a hoot about what was said about him

ProfessorSlocombe · 29/05/2023 19:51

How would it go down legally in this country if he entered someone’s home and they attacked him thinking they were defending their home and family?

The key phrase is "reasonable force".

The key problem is it is always judged with hindsight.

That said better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Homeowners have successfully claimed self defence against criminal charges where an intruder is killed.

Vitriolinsanity · 29/05/2023 19:52

He's very physically attractive and that seems to make some teenage kids a bit teflon these days among their peers and the adult exploiters.

Small straw poll amongst teens/young 20's returns;

He's a cock
He looks like a rat
He's a dick
He needs a kicking

Vitriolinsanity · 29/05/2023 19:53

And Tik Tok is over (age 16)

Ponoka7 · 29/05/2023 19:59

Astralitzia · 29/05/2023 19:14

I had to look up the news article, I see his real name is "Bacari-Bronze".

If I was named after a knock-off alcopop I'd probably act up too.

Bacari is Swahili. At least keep the derogatory comments around race and ethnicity down.

PickledMuffin · 29/05/2023 19:59

My God, I've never heard of him but sounds like a right dick. Is this how Jackass and the like has evolved?!

He's going to "prank" the wrong person in London.

Fingers crossed. The guy is an absolute bellend.

Fuckitydoodah · 29/05/2023 20:01

What an absolute bellend.

I really hope social media like tik tok has it's day soon and is seen as really uncool amongst teens.

If there ever was a case to investigate for ADHD, this is it. I've watched his interview with Piers and apart from the crazy stunts there's a slightly manic way to how he speaks. He doesn't seem inherently 'evil', but seems to thrive on the attention from these crazy impulsive stunts and lacks a good education. Even his mother is fed up with it all and he is estranged from her apparently.

Adhd doesn't make people do shit like this.

MoreCheesecakeNow · 29/05/2023 20:05

@goldengooze I came here to say this. As a woman of Caribbean descent I know for a fact that an older Caribbean or African auntie or uncle would not hesitate to lay hands on him and so would a lot of the younger men in our community.
I feel like he's race baiting in a way by targeting white people and Jewish people because there's only a matter of time before he gets smacked by a white or Jewish person and then he'll cry racism and play the victim.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 29/05/2023 20:07

He's escalating.

I really hope he gets a custodial sentence, but very much doubt it. He'll be out on a community order and he'll be up to his old tricks again.

This will end in tears.

Doormatnomore · 29/05/2023 20:07

That just reminded me of something from my school days, so somewhat before TikTok (by 20 years) and a young man and his pals thought it was funny to try and rush in the door behind me. My dad was usually away with the army, but not that day and honestly I thought he was going to literally throw him out the door he was so angry. He scruffed him up the street demanding to know where he live - which came to nothing. My dad said he was terrified because I would normally be coming home to an empty house and he had no idea what they were thinking.

anyway I bet these days the police would have wanted a word with my dad.

Mumofazoo · 29/05/2023 20:09

I hate mental illness getting thrown about for twats like this. I have several mental illness and would never dream of behaving like this.

PToosher · 29/05/2023 20:10

'Reasonable force' doesn't mean you have to engage in a 'fair fight' with someone that's forced their way into your house.
You are entitled to pick up whatever is close to had to defend yourself.

AmeliaWarnerBros · 29/05/2023 20:12

He's not helping race relations is he? Perpetuating the myth about the behaviour of young disenfranchised black men.

Cornettoninja · 29/05/2023 20:15

I did wonder whether this was some sort of elaborate performance art social commentary piece when he started going on about UK laws being shit but it’s to obvious he’s an ego driven little shite.

Adhd doesn't make people do shit like this

In and of itself I agree but it is linked to higher instances of criminal activity, particularly amongst young men. There’s a whole raft of other factors involved but it wouldn’t be surprising to find out he was diagnosable.

DojaPhat · 29/05/2023 20:18

@AmeliaWarnerBros Precisely. I have no idea what he's playing at when he knows he's solely responsible for the way innocent, upstanding members of the white community look to him as the representative of all Black people not only in the UK but globally. He should carry himself with more decorum infront of white people who apparently get to be treated as individuals but he on the other hand is the spokesman for Black people everywhere. Someone should write him a letter from the head of the white community, would you like to volunteer for the role? Mind you, have the white people among us had a word with themselves regarding the white people in the news recently tarnishing their race?

SureJanSure · 29/05/2023 20:20

He'll be stupid to cry racism doing what he's doing and someone lays hands on him. I'm shocked no one has already.

He says the UK law is weak and the reason he's getting so much attention is because he's a black man doing this. To be fair, I'm quite surprised that as a black man (as he calls himself, he does look like a 16 year old boy to me) he hasn't received worse punishment than he has. Does that mean the UK isn't racist or is pandering or he's enjoying 'white privilege'? I don't know.

He seems to know what he's trying to achieve with his mates, all of who look young too.

DojaPhat · 29/05/2023 20:22

@Astralitzia The name is Swahili but don't let your xenophobia and racism get in the way of your tedious joke.
