To think new neighbour is a potential CF

^^
He woke us at 8.24 am moving his lawn. Is that normal?
AIBU to think that’s too early? We’re three terraced houses so you can’t escape some noise but 8.24 on a bank holiday!?

He’s been annoying since they moved in so i think I’m just annoyed at him.

OP posts:
Missingmyusername · 29/05/2023 10:00

I think 8.30 is unreasonable to be honest, especially on a bank holiday.

olympicsrock · 29/05/2023 10:00

The other stuff is annoying . Mowing after 8am is ok

Sigmama · 29/05/2023 10:01

Massively unreasonable, aren't people allowed to enjoy their bank holidays any more

Tinybrother · 29/05/2023 10:01

Quite surprised to see these comments because often it’s 9am that’s felt to be the earliest on weekends and bank holidays. I don’t let my children into the garden until 9am because it’s too noisy for the neighbours.

Highfivemum · 29/05/2023 10:02

I am surprised that someone who sounds a total a*e would even bother to cut his lawn to be honest.

PineappleLatte · 29/05/2023 10:02

How does mowing a lawn make anyone a “potential CF”?!

TheHoover · 29/05/2023 10:03

I don’t find 8.30am too early

Divorcedalongtime · 29/05/2023 10:03

After 8 is fine, if they have a mowing service come in they would start at 8 too. The grass still grown on bank holidays

goingtotown · 29/05/2023 10:05

My neighbour has been power washing his drive since 8am doesn't bother me.

Seeline · 29/05/2023 10:05

I think after 9 on a bank holiday is reasonable.

Not everyone has young children to wake them, but a lie in opportunity is still rare.

TheDogsGoneMad · 29/05/2023 09:52

@YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan same situation here. They work from home so why 8.24 on bank holiday Monday?

Maybe because they are working during the week? I work from home and certainly don't have time to pop out and mow the lawn during my long work hours.

Pisses me off that people seem to think that because I work from home I have time to do all my household chores during my work day

Wildspace · 29/05/2023 10:07

The parking stuff is CF territory. The dog stuff is also unreasonable.

Scottishskifun · 29/05/2023 10:07

I don't think it's too early to be mowing a lawn but the other stuff you mention later yes.

I would also be reporting the dog to the dog warden if it's snarling at people passing by/you guys getting in and out of your property

HelpMeGetThrough · 29/05/2023 10:08

Surprised nobody has told you not to call 101 and Report, Report, Report!!!!

It's "No Mow May"!!! The bastard!!!

Againstmachine · 29/05/2023 10:09

Nah the time is fine.

But what is his CF behaviour, is he using your mower to do it is he parking in your space.

I think you have confused someone annoying you with them being a CF.

Littlethingsmeanalot · 29/05/2023 10:09

None of that stuff would really bother me, you live in very close proximity to others they need to get about their lives and not tip toe round you so you can pretend you don’t have neighbours. 😂

justasoul · 29/05/2023 10:10

On MN anything after 6am is late, OP, and how very dare you want a lie in? Grin
I find it inconsiderate, yes, but not CF. The only one I’d consider CF is the car request. But I can see why the constant annoying things can be grating.

Maybe it’s because this was posted early and those comments will be along later once they’re out of bed?! 😁

Luckydip1 · 29/05/2023 10:10

He is being inconsiderate but not worth falling out over.

Minfilia · 29/05/2023 10:11

I’d say 8:30 was a bit unreasonable. 9 feels like a much nicer time for people who want a lie in.

our neighbours both work unpredictable shifts though so here there’s never an appropriate time!

Ah you’re probably on to something!

Makemyday99 · 29/05/2023 10:13

What difference does it make that it’s a bank holiday?! People do complain about the most trivial nonsense

MargaretThursday · 29/05/2023 10:13

Df has a hand push lawnmower that he uses for bank holidays and Sundays. It's much quieter, but more work. Maybe he could get one of those.

Doggymummar · 29/05/2023 10:14

Our local council website has 8am to 8pm Saturday 10am till 1pm on SUNDAY and no activity permitted on a bank holiday. My ndn who is in his 80s was mowing at 8, but to be fair I was up since 6 so it didn't bother me. Another was angle grinding before 9. I'm in the conservatory so I can hear it all. We stick to the rules, it's easier to be sanctimonious that way!

learning2fly · 29/05/2023 10:16

That is way too early. Would never dream of mowing lawn until after 11am on BH.. some people are just so inconsiderate OP
