Vaping in the cinema

Took DDs to the cinema this afternoon to see The Little Mermaid, every 10 mins or so got definite blasts of vape (I do it occasionally so know the smell) from somewhere behind me - turned round a couple of times but couldn’t see who it was and didn’t feel like I could report it either. WTF is wrong with people - surely vaping is classed same as smoking - you wouldn’t spark up in the cinema would you?! Makes me really mad, cinema full of little kids - who would do that?!

Personally i dont see an issue with it as its not like its actual cigarette smoke, people dont seem to know the difference.
I find people farting in the cinema far more offensive. So rude.

100% should have popped out and mentioned it to the staff - they've got proper cameras they can go on and see who it was. It's disgusting to do in a cinema!

I should have spoken to staff - can’t believe anyone would think that is ok in a cinema environment but to be fair lots of behaviour in there is challenging - talking, phones etc

And this being the case why would you wait til you got home and start a thread on MN rather than speaking to cinema staff at the ti r .

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea i see your point and I wish I had but was on own with DDs so didn’t want to take them out to complain and no one else seemed bothered and I could do no plumes of smoke

If someone did that with me in the cinema, it would be a hospital job.

There was someone puffing away on a vape on the treadmill next to me in the gym the other evening. People use the things everywhere!

Ergh. Gross. I would have complained. I hate it when I get caught in a blast of vape while outside, let alone in a closed space.

I went to a gig at Wembley and someone starting vaping. It was outside but it still seemed really rude to do that while squished in with dozens of people all around you.

I'm finding it so annoying, I was in the pub with someone who just started vaping at the table. It stinks, it's unhealthy.

It's gross. You should have reported it. It's not fair to inflict stinky chemicals into other peoples lungs.

I took my two teens to the theatre about a year ago and about halfway through the first half a steward was peering along our row with a torch. I was a bit concerned one of mine was doing something I hadn't noticed like kicking someone's seat but in the interval my teen who was sitting two seats away from me said the adult sitting next to him had been vaping, so I think that's what they were trying to catch. I was quite shocked someone would do it in a theatre! I kept an eye out in the second half but actually I think they'd left so maybe they'd been spoken to in the interval and thrown out.

It stinks and it goes on. It gets in your clothes and hair and I'm pretty sure it will be shown to be harmful soon.

Former toxicologist here. They are nasty things, better than smoking but still not like breathing fresh air. I hold my breath when walking past people vaping, I wouldn't stay in an enclosed space when someone was using one if I could help it. I sincerely hope that everyone is see using one is trying to give up smoking rather than just vaping for enjoyment.

Some weird comments. It stinks? Its disgusting? There are literally 100s of flavours, some like menthol have no discernable scent at all so? And you cant smell it on clothes, cigarette smoke you definitely can granted. I think people see a vape and assume its an actual cigarette and just get confused.

And for all those living in cities you do realise all the nasty chemicals youre breathing in every day from car exhaust air pollution? You can't visibly see it but google all the dangerous crap that we're ingesting daily.
