long story, short.
husband and I took early retirement and sold our home in Canada. 7 weeks ago we moved to a condo that we had purchased previously (for our retirement) In Dominican Republic. 3 min walk to gorgeous bavaro beach, lots of quirky little eateries, Small condo complex but upscale with two large pools and 2 bbq gazebos with included gas bbqs and dining tables for the owners to use. SURPRISE. 3 couples that we have not had alot of socializing with have all sent messages this week. 1 looking to stay a week in august, 1 a week in October, and the other couple want to bring their two kids over CHRISTMAS!! I need to figure out a good response to them all. I did want to message back FUCK OFF but my husband thought it was a bit harsh haha. Couple one have always been good hosts as have we on the rare occasion that we have been in each others house ( and good dinner guests, including asking what they can bring and when i say nothing, they showed up with flowers and two bottles of wine as they didn't know what i was cooking, so a red and a white) Couple Two. had them over for a bbq once. nice enough people that lived in our culdesac, but showed up empty handed and then asked for some of the leftovers as she didn't have time to make anything for their packed lunches the next day (it was a lunch bbq over at 5 pm) Couple three. JUST NO. In the message they sent they said that they know it is just two bedrooms two baths, but the kids could sleep in the livingroom and share THEIR bathroom. And they were so looking forward to my cooking for the week as they are not in a position to eat out much !! ( I am a NOW RETIRED restaurant owning chef. NO NOPE NOPITY NOPE.
So. How do I word my messages back to them that does not include FUCK OFF ?

Sorry, this might be blasphemy judging by this thread, but I bought a multipack of Tayo crisps in Morrisons and they taste exactly like Walker crisps to me 🤷‍♀️😂

Take that back!!!!!

MavisMcMinty · 30/05/2023 18:46

The trouble with Taytos is that they have to be cheese and onion by law, and I prefer ready salted or salt and vinegar.

Unitedwestand · 30/05/2023 18:54

Hone bargains have Tayto crisps in every now and then.

Gcsunnyside23 · 30/05/2023 19:25

Northern cheese and onion tayto , southern salt and vinegar, southern smoky bacon.... In that order. Top tier crisps! Stock up on the salt and vinegar when I go down home, by far my fave

innerspace · 30/05/2023 21:18

Not cool op to get people involved, and then just disappear.

Peridot1 · 30/05/2023 21:29

I grew up across the road from the old Tayto factory in Dublin. Which was across the road from Cadburys. The smells were interesting!

RideMeSidewaysWasAnother1 · 03/06/2023 19:46

Don't mean to brag but I love in the Northern town where Tayto crisps are made (never had a tour of the factory)

Stewball01 · 04/06/2023 14:21

Not possible. Sorry.
And then block.

MadeForThis · 05/06/2023 20:18

I had a summer job in the tayto factory when I was in school.

Retirement home. No children allowed to stay.
Don't tell them your address
Tell them you no longer host as you have retired.

I am so sorry for the late update. I had to fly back to canada for 4 days, to sign some papers as my mother (in pallitive care) passed away. I have no phone there other than my husbands dominican phone and it| costs a fortune to browse the internet. No omg I am so sorry ..please. My mother was a horrible person who I had no contact with for almost 10 years, then I went to see her right before we moved here as I felt that would be what my late father would have wanted. I went to sort her memorial out for my late fathers sake like I promised him I would.

recipe for Lasagna.

3/4 pound ground beef (as lean as you can get)
1/2 pound ground italian sausage ( that is four italian sausage links taken out of casing
PUT IN FRYNG PAN AND BROWN... DRAIN WELL

ok now lasagna noodles. In the restaurant we were able to order sheets. There is NO need to boil lasangna noodles. put them in a shallow pan with hot water over them (kettle hot) leave for thirty min. no boiling needed)

sauce. Want a homemade recipe? its a bit off a faff but just let me know. Otherwise 3 jars or cans at about 24 oz each. when meat mix is drained.. saute a large onion.. when almost translusant add in 2 tomatoes finely diced (or you can use one can of diced toms) dump in all the meat, sauted veg, and your sauce. You do not need to reheat this.. to the bottom of a 9x13 deep dish pan (can be slightly bigger or smaller no big deal) throw a little water.. just maybe a half cup. Then first layer of lasagna noodles. top with 1/4 meat mixture and small container of cottage chez. then a sprinkle of parm if you have it. then second layer.put the noodles down.. and another 14 of the meat sauce. top with some shred mozza. maybe a little parm if you love parm. repeat noodle layer and sauce . small container of ricotta cheese. sprinkle of cheddar . then last layer. noodle sauce. nothing else. cover with tin foil. bake at 350 for about 45 min. remove from oven. top with grated mozza and ched. (you can leave out ched if you wish) let stand 30 min before slicing or you will not have lasagna .. you will have lasanga soup..

what a surprise..it has started!
