Currently have an Audi A4 Avant which I love but it’s on its last legs now. I was thinking of getting another newer one but fancy a change.

My criteria is:

Big enough for pram
Lots of leg room
Fits 2 isofix seats in the back
Good on fuel
Comfortable for long trips
Has a good amount of tech
Looks cool!

We’ve just bought a Hyundai Kona, it’s a ‘mild hybrid’ so the electric battery self charges and is there to give a boost when needed, which it really does.
It’s lovely to drive and has plenty of tech, it scared me to death when it started bonging at me when close to another car! They are bringing out a new version so there are bargains to be had on the current model as long as you aren’t too picky on colour - we ended up with a bronzey-red when I really wanted a lime green one.

Oh, it can also park itself, but it's a bit of a gimmick and doesn't always work.

My xc90 can park itself. I’ve owned it three years and tried the parking out once 😂 I do not like not being in control!

I’ve decided to test drive a couple! I want to test:

Newer Audi A4 (mines a 2008!)
Audi Q3 and Q5
Peugeot 3008
Toyota RAV4
Nissan Qashqai (I loved my juke!)

Im also going to keep browsing and have another flick through the thread. My husband hats Vauxhall and I hate Fords so that narrows it down quite a bit!

I have a 2019 Skoda Octavia Style. I love it. It ticks all your boxes and really is a lovely drive. The Superb is a bigger version of the Octavia if you want even more space.

Vauxhall Mokka, love it!

I have both an Audi Q3 and an Audi Q8 E-tron. I love both and would go with a Q3 or Q5 if you didn't want electric.

Seat Arona (1.5 model). Similar footprint to a golf but a bit ‘boxier’. Good on fuel, decent tech, does long journeys well.

SpringNotSprung · 27/05/2023 20:18

Honda CRV hybrid. Love it.

VW Tiguan!

I have a Volvo v40 I love it as much now as the day I picked it up from the garage when it was brand new 5 years ago x

Is yours automatic or manual? Mine is automatic and it drives me mad - literally!
That system which nudges your steering wheel if you go over the centre line is bloody dangerous, not to mention annoying, especially when you need to cross the centre line! Also having a dial instead of a gearstick is ANNOYING

Oh mine is manual - I hate automatics and have regretted buying one in the past. Glad I didn't get one this time too.

I switch off the lane assist - it doesn't drag you over if you are indicating but doesn't work well on little windy roads with white lane markers either side so not good for me but very easy to disable.
